DESCRIPTION

The Bach Standard Trumpet Mouthpiece 7C is one of the most widely recognized and commonly used trumpet mouthpieces available. It has long been the go-to choice for beginning and developing players, and it's frequently supplied as the standard mouthpiece with student-level trumpets.

Designed around a comfortable balance of rim size, cup depth, and airflow, the 7C delivers a clear, bright, well-balanced tone with good flexibility and endurance. The moderate "7" rim diameter paired with the medium "C" cup makes it a true middle-ground mouthpiece — equally at home in ensemble sections and solo playing, across a wide range of musical styles. The medium-wide rim with its rounded outer edge gives a comfortable playing surface while helping with stability and control, which is especially useful for students developing embouchure and consistent tone production.

Music educators favor the 7C because its moderate dimensions provide an accessible starting point for building embouchure, tone, range, and endurance. Because it's so widely used by students and teachers alike, it has become a standard reference point in trumpet playing. Plenty of experienced players stick with it too, finding its combination of comfort and versatility well suited to their individual style.

This particular mouthpiece has seen moderate use over the years. All of the plating is intact, but there are feather scratches throughout along with very tiny dings and pings. The bottom rim is slightly out of round — ever so slightly — and it does not affect playability or intonation (see photo). Our technician has polished it and it is ready for general playing conditions.
