DESCRIPTION
The Gemeinhardt 3S is a well-established conservatory/intermediate-level flute from Gemeinhardt's highly regarded 3-series. Serial number 6377XX places this instrument in the 1982–1986 production period according to Gemeinhardt's serial-number records, making it a vintage example built during the company's peak production era in Elkhart, Indiana.
The 3S was designed to give advancing flute students an open-hole, French-style key system and an instrument suitable for developing technique and musical expression. This one carries the traditional combination associated with the model: open-hole French-style keys, an inline G, a solid silver headjoint with a silver-plated body and mechanism, and a standard C footjoint.
