DESCRIPTION

The SE Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition keeps everything players love about the Silver Sky — the feel, the response, the playability — and wraps it in a bold new visual identity. For this collaboration, John Mayer and PRS looked outside the guitar world entirely, drawing from the contemporary Defender palette of more than 900 colors and decades of history to choose four finishes: Petra Copper, Sedona Red, Carpathian Grey, and Woolstone Green.

Each finish is paired with a black pickguard, a first for the Silver Sky model, for a striking look that still reads as a working instrument. A custom neck plate unique to the run and a custom gig bag round out the package.

Under the paint, this is the Silver Sky spec players expect. A poplar solidbody and bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, 8.5" radius, 22 PRS SE medium frets, and the 635JM neck shape give it a familiar, broken-in feel. Three PRS 635JM "S" single-coils deliver full, warm, vintage-inspired tones with a musical high end that never turns brash, while the PRS 2-point steel tremolo and vintage-style closed-back tuners keep things stable gig after gig.
