The On-Stage Serenity Series Steel Tongue Drum is a multifaceted percussion instrument capable of long, slow, ethereal tones for meditation, yoga, sound healing, and relaxation — and equally at home playing rhythms and melodies for many kinds of music. Its pure, clear, resonant bell-like sounds come easily, even to players with no prior musical experience.
Eight keys each represent a precision-tuned note in the C major pentatonic scale, so every combination you play sounds pleasing. Because the keys never go out of tune, maintenance is essentially nonexistent — pick it up and play. The keys come pre-labeled, and a set of adhesive key labels is included to make teaching and learning easier.
You can play the drum with just your fingertips, but two striking accessories are included as well: rubber-tipped finger sleeves for a soft, calming, droning timbre, and rubber-tipped mallets for more definition and volume. A rubber rest keeps the mallets organized and in place between sessions.
