Few electric guitars embody the high-performance spirit of Ibanez like the RG, a platform shaped over decades around speed, precision and uncompromising musical expression. As part of the Ibanez Genesis Collection, this RG leverages the design language that established that reputation, pairing classic RG performance features with meticulous Japanese craftsmanship.
A solid basswood body provides a balanced, relatively neutral tonal foundation that lets your pickups and your technique come through with definition, while the streamlined double-cutaway shape keeps everything comfortable whether you're locked into tight rhythm parts or working the upper register. On top sits an exceptionally thin five-piece maple/walnut Super Wizard neck — 0.67" at the first fret and 0.75" at the 12th — with a 25.5" scale, flat 16.93" radius, bound rosewood fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets and white sharktooth inlays.
Electronics are built for clarity under gain. An Infinity R ceramic rail humbucker at the neck handles fluid leads and articulate phrasing, and the Alnico V8 bridge humbucker brings the authority and definition for hard-hitting rhythm and cutting lead tones. The five-way selector goes beyond conventional HH switching with coil-split and parallel options for leaner, more articulate textures, with master volume and tone keeping the controls direct and intuitive.
Hardware is pure classic RG: the original Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo delivers wide pitch range with excellent tuning stability and precise intonation adjustment, backed by a 1.69" locking nut and Gotoh machine heads in a black hardware package. Made in Japan, it brings the character of a formative era in Ibanez history to a precision-built modern instrument.
