DESCRIPTION
The Gibson Parlor Rosewood EC packs a whole lot of personality into a small-bodied acoustic. Its profile reads like a pared-down SJ-200, so you get that classic Gibson acoustic look in a guitar that's genuinely easy to hold and play — whether you're on the couch, in a writing session, or perched on a stool onstage.
Sound-wise, this one punches well above its footprint. A solid Sitka spruce top in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer sits over traditional scalloped X-bracing and a radiused top, joined to the body with a compound dovetail neck joint — all Gibson handcrafted construction techniques that add up to real warmth and balance. Solid rosewood back and sides, finished in satin nitro, round out the voice, and the cutaway opens up the entire length of the fretboard.
The satin-finished mahogany neck uses Gibson's Advanced Response profile — not too slender, not too beefy — topped with a bound rosewood fretboard, an easy-playing 16" radius, 19 standard frets, and single mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. The Gibson headstock logo is inlaid in mother-of-pearl too. TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins pair with smooth gold-plated Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners for solid tuning stability, while the traditional belly-up rosewood bridge and faux tortoise pickguard keep the details period-correct.
Plugging in is covered: an L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle piezo pickup and active preamp with volume and tone controls tucked at the edge of the soundhole means you can go from case to stage or studio in seconds. And yes, a modern hardshell case is included.
