The Les Paul Standard returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved — shaping sound across generations and genres of music. Paying tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation, the Les Paul Standard 60s delivers the features found on Les Paul models from the very early 1960s, bringing that authenticity back to life.
At its core is a non-weight-relieved solid mahogany body topped with an AA figured maple cap, a pairing that adds extra sustain and bite to mahogany's warmth and midrange punch. The mahogany neck is carved to a fast-playing SlimTaper profile for hours of comfortable play, and the bound Indian rosewood fretboard carries 22 medium jumbo frets with acrylic trapezoid inlays. Its 12-inch radius feels just as natural on first-position chords as it does on bends further up the neck — low action without the risk of notes choking out.
Tone comes from a pair of 60s Burstbucker pickups loaded with Alnico 5 magnets, hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls using audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. The 3-way toggle lets you run either pickup on its own or blend both, and the independent controls let you dial in any ratio you like. Gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors finish the look, just like the early 60s originals.
Hardware is period-correct throughout: an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners with Kidney buttons, and a Graph Tech nut that works with the rest of the setup to keep tuning solid. A Gibson hardshell case and accessory kit are included to keep this icon protected at home or on the road.
