DESCRIPTION
The J-45 is the best-selling Gibson acoustic of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, it's the cornerstone of Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought line and is world-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection.
The J-45 Standard delivers incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and a tight, punchy bass, thanks in large part to its round-shoulder body with solid mahogany back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top. It's a classic tonewood recipe that works for just about any musical style, supported by traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
The mahogany neck carries a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper profile and a rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard frets and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The neck meets the body with a compound dovetail joint for outstanding tonal transfer and sustain, while the traditional rosewood belly-up bridge is fitted with a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins. A low-friction TUSQ nut and Grover Rotomatic tuners keep tuning stable so you spend more time playing.
An L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and active preamp, with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls, make this J-45 stage and studio-ready the moment you open the included hardshell case.
