The Evans EC Resonant tom head is built around a single ply of 10mil film, a formula that keeps the bottom side of your tom open and expressive while reining in the tuning quirks that plague a lot of resonant heads. The result is a more centered pitch, more resonance, and a wider dynamic range from soft brush work up to full-volume hits.
Evans Level 360 technology is the big story here. The vertically enhanced collar design extends the level playing surface a full 360 degrees around the drum, guaranteeing even contact with the critical bearing edge of the shell. That solves the age-old problem of synthetic heads that never quite seat on the shell without a lot of force, so seating and tuning go quickly and the head's usable pitch range opens up.
