DESCRIPTION
The Epiphone ES-335 Figured honors the legendary ES-335, the thin, semi-hollow archtop that brought archtop class into the rock era. Part of the Inspired by Gibson Collection, it takes everything players love about the original design and dresses it up with figured maple for a new level of beauty and elegance.
First introduced in 1958, the ES-335 is considered by many players to be one of the most versatile guitar designs ever created. Its thinline, semi-hollow body and f-holes look the part of a traditional hollowbody archtop, but a solid maple centerblock inside delivers the feedback resistance and sustain of a solidbody while keeping some of a hollowbody's resonance — a genuine best-of-both-worlds instrument.
This version is built with a five-ply maple body topped with AAA figured maple veneer on the top, back, and sides, framed by single-ply cream binding. The glued-in mahogany neck uses a Rounded C profile that lands between a beefier 50s-style neck and a SlimTaper, and it's capped with a rosewood fretboard carrying 22 frets at a 12-inch radius. A GraphTech nut and Epiphone Deluxe tuners with press-in bushings keep tuning quick and stable, while the nickel LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece handle action height and individual string intonation.
A pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers supplies the rich, powerful voice, each wired to its own volume and tone control using high-quality CTS potentiometers. The three-way toggle lets you run either pickup alone or both together, so blues, hard rock, jazz, and country are all a knob twist or switch flick away. It ships in a premium Epiphone gig bag, ready for the road or the practice room.
