DESCRIPTION
Since 1961, the Casino has been Epiphone's best-selling archtop and a genuine rock 'n' roll standard. It arrived as one of several new thinline archtops designed and built at the company's new home in Kalamazoo, Michigan — a factory shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson.
The Casino's list of players reads like a history of the music itself. Keith Richards used one to cut the demo for "Satisfaction" at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin' Wolf brought a Casino along on his first UK tour, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars. Not long after, John Lennon and George Harrison picked up Casinos for the Beatles' 1966 world tour.
This Vintage Sunburst model keeps the formula intact: a fully hollow 5-ply layered maple body, a pair of Epiphone P-90 PRO dogear pickups, and a mahogany neck with a SlimTaper 60s C profile and laurel fingerboard. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Diamond Trapeze tailpiece round out the classic appointments, and a gig bag is included so it's ready to travel.
