DESCRIPTION
Since 1961, the Casino has been Epiphone's best-selling archtop and a genuine rock 'n' roll standard. It was one of several new thinline archtops designed and built at the company's adopted factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan — the same plant it shared with one-time competitor and new partner, Gibson.
The Casino's resume speaks for itself. Keith Richards used one to record the demo for "Satisfaction" at Chess Records in Chicago. Howlin' Wolf took a Casino on his first tour of the UK, appearing on Thank Your Lucky Stars. Shortly afterward, John Lennon and George Harrison bought Casinos for The Beatles' 1966 world tour.
This version keeps the formula intact: a 5-ply layered maple archtop body, Dogear Epiphone P-90 PRO pickups at the neck and bridge, and a mahogany neck carved to a SlimTaper 60s C profile with a 12"-radius laurel fingerboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. A LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Diamond Trapeze tailpiece handle the business end, while Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners and a Graph Tech nut keep tuning stable.
Details like the sloped Dove Wing headstock, 3-ply Casino pickguard with metal E, gold Top Hat knobs and nickel hardware finish the look. A gig bag is included.
