DESCRIPTION

The EBow is a small, battery-powered handheld electronic bow that takes the place of the pick in your right hand. Hold it over a string and the string keeps ringing — giving you infinite sustain that's rich in harmonics and nothing like what a pick or fingers can do on their own.

Unlike plug-in effects that process your signal after the fact, the Energy Bow does its work on the string itself. That's Direct String Synthesis: the note is being driven at the source, so the response is immediate and remarkably sensitive to how you move the unit over the string.

With a little practice you can mimic strings, horns, and woodwinds, or dial in fades, bowed swells, and unusual tonal textures. It works on guitar, bass, and other stringed instruments, runs on a single 9-volt battery, and is just as useful as a songwriting spark as it is a studio and stage tool.

Infinite sustain is just the beginning — the EBow is one of those simple tools that opens up an entirely new dimension of expressiveness on an instrument you already know.
