DESCRIPTION

The Alvarez AED66ce Armrest is a lively dreadnought that delivers a warm, focused tone from its all-Mahogany construction. Understated cosmetics make for a striking aesthetic, enhanced by Alvarez's standard-width bevel armrest made from Ebony — a detail that takes the pressure off your forearm during longer sessions.

Underneath the flawless gloss finish, the FS6 forward-shifted bracing pattern opens up a larger soundboard area to heighten vibration. Pair that with a high-quality solid African Mahogany top and premium components throughout, and the result is an engaging, responsive playing experience.

The cutaway body makes it easy to get up the neck, and the guitar comes fitted with the LR Baggs StagePro Bronze. It's a small-footprint, side-mounted EQ built around the renowned LR Baggs Element under-saddle pickup, with a large backlit tuner plus volume, bass, treble and phase controls. The battery box is built into the end pin jack compartment, so a simple push pops it open for quick battery changes.

Alvarez grades every solid top independently of its suppliers — if it isn't worthy, it isn't used. After months of seasoning, the wood goes through an extra drying stage in thermo-kilns, a torrefaction process Alvarez calls ATR (Advanced Tonal Response). Oxygen-controlled vacuum curing removes more moisture, saps and sugars, making the wood more stable in dry or humid climates while delivering clearer note separation, quicker response and a more open, mature voice from day one.
