DESCRIPTION
The JHS Pedals 3 Series offers simplicity and affordability without sacrificing quality. Built in Kansas City, MO, each pedal features three controls and a toggle, delivering a wide range of tones for players of all levels. Designed to inspire creativity, the 3 Series makes high-quality sound accessible.
In 1959, Ray Lubow patented the oil can delay, a unique electro-static delay system using oil in a rotating drum to create a distinctive echo with vibrato and slapback elements. Lubow licensed this technology to brands like Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker before launching Morley, which produced oil can delays until 1989.
At Wilcoβs Solid Sound Festival in 2022, JHS founder Josh Scott discussed unusual delays with guitarist Nels Cline, who later asked if JHS made an oil can-style delay. Though they didnβt at the time, Josh and his team built one, which Nels loved and used on Wilcoβs Cruel Country and Cousin. While not an artist signature model, this pedal was inspired by that conversation, and now itβs available for your collection.
SPECIFICATIONS
-
Controls
- Mix: Controls the mix of echo and clean signal. Left is less, right is more
- Speed: Controls the length of the delay time from 100ms to 330ms. Left is shorter, right is longer
- Feedback: Controls the amount of feedback or repeats of the delay signal. Left is less, right is more
- +/- : The toggle allows you to switch between modulation intensities. In the down position, you have light movement, and in the up position, you have heavier movement. The modulation speed is associated with the delay time control (shorter is faster and longer is slower, reminiscent of the oil can warble in relation to the delay speed)
