DESCRIPTION

The Yamaha MG12X CV is a compact 12-input analog mixer built for players, engineers and installers who need clean sound in a package that can take a beating. The powder-coated steel chassis shrugs off life on the road, while inside you get Yamaha's D-PRE discrete Class-A microphone preamps — the same philosophy behind the company's larger consoles — for detailed, natural-sounding mic inputs.

Connectivity is flexible: XLR, 1/4" phone and RCA pin jack inputs are all accommodated, with XLR and phone outputs plus a balanced stereo out feeding your PA, interface or recorder. Two AUX busses give you one send for the built-in SPX digital effects and another for monitors, and a footswitch jack lets you mute effects hands-free mid-performance.

Four channels of Yamaha's one-knob compression make it easy to tighten up vocals, bass or a snare mic without wrestling with threshold and ratio controls. Add three-band EQ with an 80Hz high-pass filter on the mono channels, per-channel peak LEDs, dual 12-segment output metering, and switchable +48V phantom power, and you have a mixer that covers small gigs, houses of worship, rehearsal rooms and project studios alike.

Faders and lit channel on/off switches make your settings readable at a glance, and color-coded controls keep things intuitive under stage lighting. At 9.3 lb it travels easily, and it can be rackmounted with the optional RK-MG12 kit for permanent installs.
