RODE VIDEOMIC Details
The Rode VideoMic is a cost effective, camera mounting shotgun microphone that features an integrated shock mount and close signal reproduction. The VideoMic features a small, light weight profile allowing quick, unobtrusive mounting on DV and HDV cameras without appearing in the frame. The super-cardioid polar pattern and barrel canceling design attenuates side axis audio and results in maximum response at the front of the capsule. The result is close, noise free signal when capturing under noisy conditions or at moderate distances.
The shock-mount is permanently attached to the microphone and an attached shoe mount allows the entire microphone to be mounted to a hot-shoe on a camcorder. Replaceable rubber O-rings suspend the microphone on the shock-mount and protect against noise due to movement and handling. A coiled cable terminates to a 1/8" (3.5mm) mini output connection. The Rode VideoMic features a condenser element that utilizes a standard 9 Volt battery. The microphone will run for approximately 100 hours on a single battery.

• Barrel Canceling Pick Up
The Rode Video Mic functions as a true line plus gradient microphone with a super-cardioid pattern in the front and a barrel that cancels side-audio. The result is maximum pick up of the source in highly ambient and noisy environments.
• Integrated Shock-Mount
The VideoMic features a permanently attached shock mount with a camera mounting shoe underneath. The shock mount features replaceable rubber o-rings that protect against noise caused by abrupt movement and shock.
• High Pass Filter Switch
A high-pass filter switch eliminates room ambiance and noise below 80Hz. This results in improved intelligibility while recording around machinery, wind or close proximities.

The condenser element is powered with a standard 9-volt battery for up to 100 hours (approximately)

The battery is conveniently located within the support arm of the microphone.A fully removable access cover and a 1-way insertion mechanism ensure ease of loading. The battery willprovide more than 100 hrs. of continuous use due to alow consumption of only 5.0 mA.Output ImpedanceThe microphone will operate satisfactorily into a loadimpedance as low as 1 kΩ. If a load below this is used,the output signal level will be reduced.
