Description
The Traynor Custom Valve 20WR answers the need for guitar players looking for superior sounding all-tube tone in a smaller, yet still feature loaded, lower-powered amplifier!
The Traynor Custom Valve 20WR is perfect for the studio or for any gig where 15 tube watts is more than enough power, but full functionality is required. Unlike competitive amplifiers in this class, the YCV20WR offers the discriminating player two discrete foot-switchable channels with true independent gain and volume controls on each channel.
A master three band EQ, effects loop, as well as an internal spring reverb are all standard equipment. Additional controls include bright switch on the clean channel and boost switch on the lead channel.
The YCV20WR is a "Class A" power amplifier driven by three 12AX7A's, two EL84's and features a Celestion "Greenback" G12M 12 speaker for classic tone.
FEATURES
- Class "A" Cathode bias amplifier
- DC filaments on preamp tubes eliminate hum
- Fully regulated power supply with tube rectifier emulation
- Long spring reverb
- Classic Celestion G12M "Greenback" speaker
- Wine Red leatherette finish with an oatmeal grille
- Speaker jack and selectable defeat for disabling the internal speaker
- D.I. Output for connections straight to the board
- All plywood enclosure
- Heavy gauge perforated grille with cloth cover
- Custom design "Chicken Beak" knobs

Responsive, like a muscle car you can carry with one hand! The clean has that tubey, spongy kind of feel that growls when you play harder, so all those lovable little fret noises and trills shine.Independent gain on the clean is a plus, lets you dial in that hint of Overdrive without killing the tone. The Drive channel is a little trickier, due to shared EQ with the clean channel. But with a little time and tweaking and compromise, you can get close to what you want. But be careful, for when you kick in the Boost, this little puppy turns into a wolf. You may find you are tweakin' back on the gain to clean it up a bit. Is it everything you could ask for? Of course not. But for its size and balls and price, for practice or small gigs, or even miked, you can't go wrong! I'm glad I got one and I am a picky SOB. Do it before they raise the price!

It is loaded with the features of a larger amp so applications are not an issue. It has a big sound, it is super transportable, and very well made. Now the sound- it really behaves just like a larger amp. Great, bright cleans, drive channel is dirty and hot and with the foot switchable boosts it is like having a third channel. I would recommend this amp for small clubs pubs and would even mic it for larger gigs. I am currently using it as a blend amp with a VOX AC50. The greenback speaker is the heart of the amp and provides a loose break up. EQ is very responsive. All around great amp for classic rock, blues- metal heads may want something bigger.
