The mythical King of Tone Overdrive from indie pedal builder Analog Man is something of legend. Dynamic, driven, touch-sensitive, and tonally outstanding, the King of Tone has gained a reputation among boutique pedals as one of the greats. Its tones have earned royal status and today, MXR drops in to bring those tones out in a powerful and compact pedal.
The MXR Duke of Tone Overdrive is born from a collaboration between MXR and the Analog Man, Analog Mike, himself. This collaboration included Analog Mike personally testing the thru-hole components to match the Duke's to the King's for absolute tonal authenticity. A replica of the King of Tone is all well and good, but MXR went ahead to build upon the formula.
A three-way switch effortlessly swaps the Duke of Tone between Boost, Overdrive, and Distortion modes to match whatever sound you're seeking. Capturing all the tonality of the King of Tone with MXR's musical expertise, fans of vintage and modern tonality alike have reason to celebrate.
