Sound Quality: | 10 | | Features: | 8 | | Ease of Use: | 8 | | Value: | 10 | | Reliability: | 10 | | Overall: | 10 | | | This has to be the best sounding guitar I've ever played. I've owned Gibsons Ovations and Washburn but this is the best by far. Most guitars today like Taylor seem to have a bright treble sound. This may be what some people want, but it's not for me. I play alternating bass, fills, and runs that makes the deep bass and volume fit my style perfect. Here in middle Tennessee we several bluegrass festivals. I can hardly wait.
- JMG (4/14/2007) | | Sound Quality: | 10 | | Features: | 10 | | Ease of Use: | 10 | | Value: | 10 | | Reliability: | 10 | | Overall: | 10 | | | I know prices should not be used in reviews but the $1,000.00 number is the max for many people. It was for me when I started looking. The D16RGT is one of those "around 1K" instruments that deserves a close look. Based on the price, I paid around $1,000.00 with free shipping and no tax, this guitar gets a 10 from me. I'm sure/know there are better sounding and better looking instruments out there but the D16RGT can hold it's own with the best. If you are looking to spend no more than, or around $1,000.00 you need to take a look and a listen to the D16RGT. The sound is sweet and rich when played tenderly but can boom the room when you let it rip. (It's got to be the rosewood). If your fixed on a Martin and you have the $ go for a D18, D28 but you really dont need to. I would keep the extra $800.00 and take killer long weekend vacation with your significant other and your D16RGT. I have a D28 on my Xmas list but Im keeping the D16 for those long weekends. For the $, it's a 10+Peace
