After one of his pride and joy pieces was destroyed in a freak concert incident, Bobby decided to take matters into his own hands and design what would begin his life-long ambition to create the “perfect” players’ mouthpiece. Evoking a warm and controllable sound, the M8 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece is an established product that is easy to control and produce a quality sound. This Medium Chamber mouthpiece offers a darker quality sound often described as rounder and depicting a mellow flavor of tonal characteristics.

Featuring a wider projection with a striking tone, professionals across the playing spectrum all agree that this model mouthpiece is a fantastic choice when performing within an ensemble setting. This particular offering from our firm has had one owner and shows moderate use. We belief this mouthpiece dates from about twenty years ago and is not serialized. There are modest feather scratches, but no pings, dings or dents. Visible upon the mouthpiece surface are some water marks from normal usage. They are obvious down the baffle and through the body (chamber) of the product.

The mouthpiece patch is solid and most likely replaced within the last five years. Presented to us with its’ original box, the M8 Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece also includes the matching metal ligature. Unfortunately, the previous owner lost the original Mouthpiece Cap and this package only includes the box, ligature and mouthpiece.

If you are looking for a blended warm sound, this may be the “one” to match with your Tenor Saxophone.

SPECIFICATIONS

Model: Bobby Dukoff M8

Instrument: Tenor Saxophone

Chamber: Medium (M)

Tone: Warm, mellow, round, and darker in color

Projection: Wide, ideal for ensemble blending

Material Condition: Moderate use with light feather scratches

Baffle/Body: Visible water marks from normal use

Mouthpiece Patch: Replaced within the last five years

Included Items: Original box and matching metal ligature

Mouthpiece Cap: Not included

Model# M8
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0612/8936/5585/files/media_45377062-73ee-415f-8c85-8c17fa3a08b0.png?v=1779929353
used-gemeinhardt-model-2sp-student-c-flute-with-case
Used Gemeinhardt Model 2SP Student C-Flute - With Case

FEATURES

Silver-Plated Finish – Headjoint, body, footjoint, and keys provide a bright tone and lasting durability

Plateau (Closed-Hole) Keys – Student-friendly design supports proper technique and confident tone production

Offset G Key – Encourages natural hand positioning, reducing strain for small or developing hands

Standard C Footjoint – Covers the full range required for beginning and intermediate repertoire

Classic J1 Headjoint – Responsive and easy-blowing, ideal for building tone and embouchure

Strong Construction – Drawn and rolled tone holes for enhanced durability; evolved from the reliable M2 design

Adjusted for General Playing Condition by our technician

*Includes “Sky” hardshell case

DESCRIPTION

The Gemeinhardt 2SP Flute has earned its place as one of the most trusted and recommended beginner flutes on the market. Over time, the vision of a great playing instrument, coupled with the forging of an iconic sound brings out devoted players seeking to capture that incredible quality of play in the modern age. “The Martin” from Martin is one of these sought after saxophones that has truly stood the test of time. Our featured item dates from 1948 and is Serial Number 1693XX. Often described as a “Committee III” model, the intrinsic sound quality is conceived by its’ core layer of brass and the intensive mechanism build that companies back in the “Golden-Age” of manufacturing forged as common fair. Of course, this is not your common saxophone by a long shot.

Before we delve into the physical attributes of this particular serialized Alto Saxophone, let us first review some of the nuts and bolts of the instrument itself. For this model designation, the manufacturer employed soldered tones to help give the saxophone a dark and active sound quality. Also found in the construct of the instrument is heavy walls made from quality brass alloys. Other interesting details of this model saxophone include a state of the art Octave Key Mechanism (for its’ time), movable/adjustable metal Thumb Rest, Ornate Key Guards, festooned with creative bell adornments and encompassing a matching neck. True care and concern for a higher build sentiment went into making the now classic “The Martin – Committee III” for generations upon generations.

The instruments’ beauty is beneath the surface. In this case and like a strong percentage of many of the different model runs, the discoloration or metal flaking is a common formality. At first, we were ready to condemn the previous owner for using it as a marching band sacrifice, but after consultation with our repair technician and doing some snooping, we learned the facts about this model.

Though the patina is worn, the actual underlying brass and key mechanism is as strong as the day it was manufactured. Visible on this instrument is nearly seventy-seven years of usage. There are the usual pings and dings from common play-through; but no major dents and only a few repairs done over the course of the previous owner(s) usage. With all of this in mind and our interaction with a regionally known woodwind repair artisan, we have elected to sell the instrument “As-Is.”

While the basic adjustments are fairly common to be performed, the needs of a collector or a performer may make null and void the usual considerations on the saxophone. We feel that each possible new owner may elect to have their own technician make adjustments and/or improvements based upon their own particular needs. Thus, it is our desire to sell this instrument in its present state at a fair-market price. If you are looking for an instrument to add to your collection or desire that “old-school” sound; look no further than this advertisement. The 6M variant is often described as a balanced mouthpiece allowing the player to reach very harmonious and rich sound tapestries while being able to exact a brightness unlike similar professional offerings. To better enable a smooth airflow, the Meyer Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece features a designed resistance often described by experts as having a medium push-back. Known for its powerful tone that is controllable as well as full-body, the Meyer 6M Tenor Mouthpiece is one that can play solo engagements to stadium gigs.

Meyer did not serialize this mouthpiece model, so we are estimated it to be somewhere between ten and fifteen years old. The original owner did not abuse the sound-making device, but there are clear signs of common usage visible on this piece of gear. The baffle is of average wear and the table is smooth. There are minor scratches on the rails near the Tip of the mouthpiece. Teeth mark on the Beak are only slightly apparent as insignificant scratches and not outright digs into the underbelly of the mouthpiece.

The Chamber and Throat are clean and the overall unit is not overtly used with discoloration and an off-putting odor. Drawing upon proven Buescher bore concepts, the Bundy II inherited many characteristics associated with the legendary Aristocrat series, resulting in a warm, centered tone and a fuller sound than many contemporary student instruments. Introduced in the early 1980s, the Bundy II replaced the original Bundy line and quickly became a fixture in concert bands, jazz ensembles, and marching programs across the country.

Renowned for its rugged construction and dependable mechanics, the Bundy II earned a reputation as a saxophone that could withstand years of rigorous use. Manufactured in the United States during the later United Musical Instruments (UMI) era, the Empire 665 became a popular choice among school music programs, private instructors, and marching bands thanks to its rugged construction and straightforward design.

Built from brass and finished in attractive gold lacquer, the instrument offers both visual appeal and long-term durability. Nickel-plated keywork provides increased resistance to wear, while mother-of-pearl key touches offer improved comfort and secure finger placement. Drawn tone holes promote smooth airflow and dependable intonation, making the horn particularly forgiving for younger and developing players.

One of the defining characteristics of the Empire 665 is its simplified octave mechanism, which encourages proper left-hand positioning and facilitates smooth transitions between registers. Combined with its reliable tuning and durable construction, the saxophone has earned a reputation as an excellent starter instrument capable of handling the rigors of classroom instruction, private study, and marching band performance.

Serial number 71062XX places this instrument within the late 1990s to early 2000s production period under United Musical Instruments. Unlike the earlier H.N. White-era King saxophones, the Empire series employed a more modern manufacturing approach aimed specifically at producing reliable and affordable student instruments.

Our featured saxophone has seen moderate use and exhibits normal cosmetic wear consistent with its age. Numerous light feather scratches are present throughout the body, while the bow shows areas of discoloration and additional scratching. Minor smudges and finish wear are also visible on portions of the keywork. Importantly, there are no dings, pings, or dents present on the instrument. Our technician has adjusted the saxophone for General Playing Conditions to ensure dependable performance.

Included with the instrument are the Original Hard-shell Case and a stock Mouthpiece. By distributing pressure more evenly across the embouchure, the wider rim helps maintain healthy circulation while minimizing excessive lip compression. This unique approach provides enhanced endurance during lengthy rehearsals and performances, making the 17C especially appealing to players who experience fatigue when using narrower traditional rims.

The medium-shallow cup and carefully engineered chamber and throat dimensions contribute to a balanced tonal response with immediate attack and dependable flexibility. Players can expect a clear, rounded sound with excellent note definition and smooth response throughout most registers. While the wider rim enhances stability and comfort, some players may find that it slightly limits extreme flexibility compared to more contemporary narrow-rim designs.

Comparable in size and playing characteristics to a Bach 7C, the Rudy Muck 17C remains a versatile option for performers in symphonic, jazz, commercial, and big band settings. Its blend of vintage tonal character, comfort-focused engineering, and dependable response has made it a favorite among collectors and musicians seeking an alternative to modern mouthpiece designs.

This particular example exhibits cosmetic wear consistent with years of use. Areas of discoloration are present along the lower decorative ring, accompanied by finish wear near the model designation and a small surface mark adjacent to the part number. The shank displays noticeable wear on one side from repeated insertion and removal, while typical feather scratches are visible throughout the body of the mouthpiece. Despite these cosmetic imperfections, the mouthpiece remains an excellent value for players looking to experience the distinctive sound and feel associated with a different era of trumpet performance.

SPECIFICATIONS

Product Name: Rudy Muck Cushion Rim Trumpet Mouthpiece 17C

Mouthpiece Type: Trumpet Mouthpiece

Manufacturer: Rudy Muck

Material: Brass

Rim Design: Wide Cushion Rim

Comparable Size: Similar to Bach 7C

Cup Depth: Medium-Shallow

Cup Diameter: Approximately 17.15 mm (.650")

Cup Measurement: Approximately .685"

Throat Design: Chambered / Optimized Airflow Layout

Grip Finish: Non-Slip Exterior Coating

Primary Benefits: Comfort, Reduced Fatigue, and Stable Embouchure

Tonal Characteristics: Clear, Rounded, and Responsive

Response Characteristics: Fast Attack and Smooth Tone Production

Playing Style Compatibility: Classical, Jazz, Commercial, and Big Band

Performance Consideration: Wider rim may slightly reduce extreme flexibility

Condition: Typical cosmetic wear consistent with age and use

Discoloration present along the lower decorative ring

Finish wear visible near the model designation

Small surface mark adjacent to the part number

Shank exhibits noticeable wear from regular use

Light feather scratches throughout the body

Excellent value for players seeking the sound and feel of a classic vintage mouthpiece

Highly collectible among vintage brass enthusiasts and professional players

Model# 17C
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0612/8936/5585/files/used-rudy-muck-cushion-rim-trumpet-mouthpiece-size-17c-4.jpg?v=1782148254
used-rudy-muck-cushion-rim-model-7-trumpet-mouthpiece
Used Rudy Muck Cushion Rim Trumpet Mouthpiece - Model 7

FEATURES

Rare vintage Rudy Muck "Cushion Rim" trumpet mouthpiece

Extra-wide 7mm cushion rim design for superior playing comfort

Medium cup depth for balanced tonal versatility

Produces a resonant, full-bodied trumpet sound

Designed to evenly distribute lip pressure during performance

Scientifically engineered chambered throat geometry introduced in 1937

Stable attack response with improved tonal clarity

Non-slip exterior surface for secure handling during performance

Helps reduce lip fatigue and muscle strain during extended playing sessions

Compatible with standard vintage trumpet receivers through medium shank construction

Highly collectible among vintage brass enthusiasts and professional players

Original examples remain highly sought after on the vintage marketplace

DESCRIPTION

The Rudy Muck Cushion Rim 7 Trumpet Mouthpiece is a rare and highly respected vintage accessory renowned for its innovative comfort-oriented design and rich tonal performance. This unique feature helps reduce lip bruising, blood flow restriction, and embouchure fatigue, making the mouthpiece especially appealing to commercial players, jazz musicians, and lead trumpet performers who spend extended periods in the upper register.

The medium-depth cup offers an ideal balance of warmth, projection, and tonal flexibility. Complementing the cup design is Rudy Muck's scientifically engineered chambered throat geometry, introduced in the late 1930s to improve airflow efficiency, pitch stability, and slotting accuracy throughout the instrument's range. Players often praise the Cushion Rim design for its secure attacks, resonant core sound, and dependable intonation without excessive note manipulation.

Additional refinements include a textured non-slip exterior surface that provides a secure grip even during lengthy performances.
