DESCRIPTION

A classic instrument is forged from the best materials and handcrafted by the finest artisans during the β€œGolden-age” of instrument manufacturing.

F.E. Olds & Son created the β€œAmbassador” line of instruments in 1947 and they have truly stood the test of time. Introduced as model A15 with a Bore size of .485/.500, this trombone is made of brass and is known for its warm and generous sound quality. On the main slide of the trombone there is a standard spit-valve and a rubber stop for protection against unwanted spills. A locking-mechanism keeps the main tuning slide in a fixed position when not in use. Featuring a screw-type bell lock system, the model Ambassador attaches the main body of the trombone to the main tuning slide portion of the instrument.

On the opposite side of the bell of the trombone is a counter weight with a nickel embossed β€œOlds” logo. This serialized trombone is 2041XX and dates from approximately 1956.Β  The dating places it in the Fullerton Factory and is certainly made in the U.S.A.Β  Nearly seven decades old, the trombone demonstrates the solid construction of this instrumentΒ  was intended to last a lifetime.Β  Across the entire instrument are the occasional scratch and very minor ping.Β  No implosions on the bell or bows of the trombone, but a few scuff marks that are minor in nature.Β  The bell is fully intact and showing a few minor scratches, but NO dents.Β

Our technician performed only General Maintenance on the Olds’ trombone including washing the interior and exterior, adding a brand new rubber stop to the main slide, adjusting the main slide and lubricating both the main and tuning slide of the instrument.Β  This package includes the Original case (main lock is testy), original polished #3 mouthpiece and the original marching band lyre.Β

Whether you are a long-time player looking for a back-up piece or a first-time player; this trombone is worthy of your consideration.Β  Β
