I was a manufacturer's rep for pro audio lines for 9 years own a studio am an audiophile. I bought these to play music from my laptop you get what you pay for, they are a lot for what little you pay, but they don't really work. They're problem is that they try to reproduce too low of frequencies its amp goes into heavy protection, which sounds terrible. Some protection circuits are designed to sound subtle when they go into protect, but that is not the case here, when these go into protect it ruins the experience. The protection circuitry needs to be much, much better, but the speakers also really need an adjustable high pass filter so that you can use them properly with a powered subwoofer also get get the most out of them in any situation. As for the sound quality when the protection doesn't kick in, they're ok, but not very useful since they don't get loud enough for any serious monitoring. I know they're inexpensive, but they don't do the job they're made for, so they're junk in my professional opinion. FYI: I have tons of experience with speakers recording monitors. Unless you want toys for your very young child's computer, don't waste your money!
