I have had my 32XD for about 9 months and I still get excited every time I walk into my studio. I no longer have the need for additional outboard gear. My recorder, my studio amp, headphones, monitors, and microphones are all I will ever need. I average around 10 hrs. a week in the studio and my Korg has not burped one time. The ease of use is supported by a great manual that doesn't take a rocket sceintist to understand. The editing features are easily accessed. You have 32 channels of 16 bit audio, 16 channels of 24 bit at 48khz or 44.1, and at 96khz 24 bit you have 8 channels available. There really is no limit to how detailed you want to get with the on board mixer, 4 band graphic e.q. per channel and 8 band graphic on final. More effects than you would ever need. The screen is great for for graphically analyzing each track and finding those little clicks and hisses you want to edit out for detailing each channel or your master mix. I bought my 32XD from Musiciansbuy and received free headphhones, an expression pedal, and 10 cds. Sure beats a Tee Shirt! There is a great user group on the Web for Korg studio owners. It is hosted by a Korg engineer and there is a wealth of knowlege from all korg users. Check it out if you want more info, and even listen to some of the music created on the korg recorders. http: www.korgstudios.com

I can't say enough good things about this machine. The ease of use and sound quality are incomparable. I received my unit with 1.0 software and downloaded the upgrades from Korg's website. I upgraded from 1.0 to 2.1 in 10 minutes. The upgrade gave additional features to the recorder and only required pressing 2 buttons! The manual is layed out where even I can understand it. It has Pictures with every step! You can produce a quick scratch recording at 16 bit 48Khz or a full full blown 32 channel project at 24 bit 96khz. I previously used a mic amp to provide a warmer vocal, but I don't need it with the mic modeling. I have to admit you can get as detailed as you want equalizing each track with a 4 band graphical eq. (Amazing on an acoustical guitar)You can detail the response of each string! You have a mix for each channel, a final mix, and a eight band master mix. Some of the track features? Noise erase,(Take a snapshot of your baseline noise, the machine learns it and erases the noise from each track. Prestine sound. You have to be careful, hours will pass in what seems a few minutes, while you easily learn all of the tools at your finger tips. You can put in an audio CD and model your instrument to sound like your favorite artist. The Free stuff from Musiciansbuy wasn't bad either!
