Clearsonic Drum Shield Options
“The drums are too loud!” - said no drummer ever.
If you have anyone else on the stage other than the drummer… they will need to hear themselves as well.
Enter the drum shield!
Clearsonic has been making drum shields [sometimes referred to as drum booths or isolation shields] since 1996 and they make them better than anyone. Here at MusiciansBuy we carry the full line of Clearsonic products including Vocal Booths and Amp Isolation Shields. Today we are going to focus on quieting the drums so that we can have proper stage volume for everyone.
Picking the right Drum Shield depends on a few factors: budget, amount of sound reduction needed and your stage size.
If you have the budget your best bet is the MegaPac or MiniMegaPac. They both have clear plastic panels all the way around the drums, have a roof and have the absorbing panels known as “sorbers”. These also reduce the sound the most – achieving around a 70% reduction in stage volume.
Next up is IsoPac A & IsoPac B. Both of these have a roof and the clear plastic panels along the front but have sorbers lining the back instead of additional plastic panels. This keeps the cost down a bit.
IsoPacs C & D have no roof and clear plastic panels along the front with sorbers on the back.
Finally you can get just the plastic panels without any sorbers. These come in different panel configurations [A4 has 4 panels/A5 has 5 panels] These serve as a low budget solution to at least tame the drums.
Here is a breakdown of the different options:
MegaPac Has roof lid system 7 ft high 8ft deep/ClearSonic Panels all the way around
MiniMegaPac Has roof lid system 6.5 ft high 6 ft deep / ClearSonic Panels all the way around
IsoPac A Has roof lid system 6.5 ft high 9ft deep / ClearSonic Panels in front / Sorber Panels in back
IsoPac B Has roof lid system 6.5 high 7 ft deep/ ClearSonic Panels in front / Sorber Panels in back
IsoPac C No Roof System /5.5 ft high 7 ft deep / ClearSonic Panels in front / Sorber Panels in back
IsoPac D No Roof System / 4 foot high 6 foot deep / ClearSonic Panels in front / Sorber Panels in back
A4/A5 ClearSonic Panels only
