As you might guess, the Volume knob controls the output level of the pedal. The Boost knob controls the amount of fuzztone, and can be used to extraordinary effect. From deep grit to spacey-tripping, you can attenuate this little beauty to inject the exact amount of fuzz you desire.

A mini-toggle switch lets you select between 9 or 24 volt power rails, which determines the power supply voltage for the entire circuit. At 9V the pedals behaves like the classic, saggy fuzz box. However, switch over to 24-volts and the Octavix delivers a tighter sound with a richer octave tone.

The footswitch selects whether the pedal is engaged or disengaged, or even in True Bypass mode. In True Bypass mode, the Input jack is connected directly to the Output jack and nothing else, so that when the pedal is disengaged, your dry signal will remain pristine.

The Electro Harmonix Octavix comes equipped with a 9.6DC-200BI power supply, but can also be powered by using a single 9-volt battery. Therefore, wherever you are, and whatever the situation, you can rest assured that you’ll be powered up and ready to go.
