I have been playing drums for about 6 years now and I've played on a handful of kits, but when I saw these at Guitar Center one afternoon I had to sit down behind this incredible piece of musical genius. I was absolutely blown away with the sound of these drums....Really....Just like most people, when I finally got the courage to look at the price tag and saw that they were over $5000 bucks, I said to myself of course they are. I mean this drum kit has everything and is upgradeable. I will be saving for these drums and they will be mine soon....very, very soon. lol

I never thought I would like any set of electronic drums because of the difference in sound between acoustic and electronic. After I moved, I decided it was time to get a set and in order not to drive my neighbors nuts, I relented to getting electronic. I couldn't believe the sound of these drums and best of all I have at my disposal 100's of kits all in one. For example I can play a stadium set, a jazz set, a rock set, and on and on and within each set I can modify the sounds of each drum. I can choose a 20 ride, a 22 ride, etc, etc, and modify the tones of the cymbal (e.g., the tone and its duration). One of my favorites is the afro kit where I change one of the symbols to a gong. If you are uncertain about this kind of set (electronic), you need to find a place to test a set out and where there is someone who can show you these kinds of features. I am still learning about the td-20. The owners manual is not great, but there is an owners manual on dvd that is put out by Roland that is excellent. The reason I gave this a 7 for ease of use may only be relelvant to myself who never had an electronic set. It did take me some time to get on board. Then again this was primarly from trying to learn from the owners manual. When I purchased the manual on DVD, things went a lot better. Note-I have no idea how the td-10 compares to the td-20. I know there is less kits you can configure on the 10, but I don't know how many. Although the price of the TD-20 is much more than the TD-10, before I even considered the number of kits I could configure, my main reason was the size of each drum. I just was not comfortable with the small drums of the td-10, although the sound was also good.
