I have used the Yorkville Elite beasts for years up to and including this newer 2152 for Rave parties and Southern Gospel concerts. I have NEVER had one break on me and the sound is beyond belief. My combo is 6 tops and six older SW800 subs which appear to be bulletproof. Of course the processor units are a necessity also - I've tried to match them with aftermarket drive racks and can't do it. Overall, I have to say these are speakers that will put a grin of incredulity on your face every time you use them, even after 10 years. This size sound shouldn't be possible out of this size box. Probably the best you can get for the money short of mega-dollar line arrays - and I would put these up against most of those for pleasing sound and ease of setup. I won't use anything else. -Jeremy Price E2152:Yorkville E2152 Elite Speaker CabinetCATEGORY:Live Sound|Speaker Cabinets|Non Powered Speakers|Yorkville| RATING:
Yorkville 2152 s
This is a speaker that you don t have to worry about and you can use without adding subwoofers in large rooms. I ve used my 2152 s in small venues and I have no complaints about the overall sound for ANY size venue. That being said I use my 2152 s x2 with Yorkville 2108 Subwoofers x2 and 2-6040 x2 power amplifiers.
I m a fan of Yorkville products b c they work beyond USER capabilities. Meaning when properly crossed over and EQ ed you as a user can not damage these speakers and you will NEVER get bored or complain about lack of anything Period.
These things play so loud and clear that they make the vibration of a SNARE drum (as opposed to a bass drum) rattle your insides. I have used them over 150 shows with no problems.
As I mentioned earlier you can use the 2152 s without subwoofers. You should be aware that in my opinion the bass department lacks a little as a stand alone system but I want to make it perfectly clear that this is not a weak speaker without sub reinforcement. It can be a downright overkill at most venues. But like somebody once said, bigger is better and you get what you pay for .that applies here.
Who would I suggest buy this speaker: A hard working and profitable band or DJ that has the means to transport these beasts.
Pro s: Power capability is extreme, able to bi-amp, sound is clear, construction of materials is top notch, and they are easy to set up thanks to casters.
Con s: Heavy, not for everybody b c of price, not the best pick if you want more low end for systems that are not subwoofer assisted.
