My mom bought this piano 2 years ago as a christmas present. Wow is it a great piano. I love the keyboard sounds from grand piano to bright piano. The rhythms and various instramentations are wonderful. I would like to buy one just for me personally. It's great.

I purchased the keyboard for school. Being a music teacher, I needed to purchase something cost-effective, but full of options. I can't believe the value in this package! It sounds fantastic although I would advise using an external amp for use. The quality is top-notch and I like the expandability. It was so impressive, my father, a retired music teacher, bought the same package the day after I received it. The Yamaha DGX 505 is the first digital piano I have purchased . I'm not a highly skilled pianist more of an advanced level, but I have played many pianos and have had experience over the years in determining what I do and do not like in them . Overall I am pleased with the Yamaha. It has a great sound quality to it - better than I had expected since I am a fan of my old Baldwin . There are a pleathora of features that come with it . So , I believe it is a pretty good value for the money . It has been quite handy as I live in an apartment complex and my husband works third shift . I love that I am able to plug in headphones and play during the day when my husband and baby are sleeping and at night when my neighbors are sleeping . It's a good way to get a great deal of practice time accomplished . It is fairly lightweight for a piano. I don't know that I would buy it for one who travels constantly. It doesn't seem durable enough . I did encounter a problem with mine . The first day that I played it, two keys began to make a popping noise . I was told by Yamaha that it was defective so I am returning it, but I don't think that after one day of playing two keys should make a popping noise . It hasn't affected anything else besides my sanity, but I am skeptical on its reliability . The only other thing I have to complain about is that the sustain pedal often acts like a damper pedal instead . I found that if I keep my foot off the pedal when I power up the piano, it eliminates the problem most of the time . The keys also are not fully weighted by any means, but that is to be expected for the money . For those looking for an 88 keyed- full sized- piano, this is a good option for the money .

This is an awesome value on a great keyboard. My wife and I play in several churches in the area on a regular basis. The only down side is the stand. If you are going to leave this in one place, the stand is great, but we are always packing it around and we bought a folding "On Stage" stand to make it easier to move. We have used it for over two years and have had no problems.

This digital piano is definately a great instrument for your money! I bought this piano as an upgrade for a very old Casio keyboard and I am very pleased with it. It has features for everyone from beginners to advanced players. The beginners will enjoy the perfomance assistant and the inetactive lessons while the more advanced will love this keyboard's computer connectivity. There are only two slight downfalls that you may consider: one is to use a lot of the features on this keyboard you WILL have to use the manual, but just playing is just as simple as turning it on and selecting your preferred voice. The other feature I miss from the more expensive keyboards is the weighted keys, if you are looking to use it just as a keyboard this won't matter to you but if you are used to a piano feel this will take a little getting used to. All in all, this is an excellent product for its relatively low price.

This has got to be the best value out there in digital pianos. From the incredible sound quality along side the too many features to list and of course the Yamaha name for realiability. A tremendous high to experience playing this beautiful sounding instrument with a touch of ease.

I'm very pleased with this digital piano. The DGX500 was very popular, but this upgraded 505 model comes with USB, Smart Media, and other features which make it far superior to its predecessor. Of course it takes a while for the unfamiliar to learn the features of a keyboard like this, but that's to be expected. With that said, the learning curve on this Yamaha is much less steep than on many similar keyboards. I'm very pleased with this product, and I'm no pro, so it has more features than I'll ever need. I will keep this piano until it breaks down, because it does everything I need it to do.

Great sounds and huge feature set at this price. It does not have hammer, piano weighted keys- just piano sized keys. Great for beginner pianist and those that want more fun factor than a digital piano- auto arranging/drums to play with,..., 100's of sounds,... teaching lessons,..great display,..
