The sound of this parlor sized guitar will surprise you ... Great sound, playability, intonation and looks (although simple). The original strings sounded good, but I now have a set of Aquila Alabastro superior tension that produce a volume and tone that I really like. Even with the original strings, I had to make a slight truss rod ajustment (more relief) and this same adjustment worked great with all the various strings (all hard tension) that I have tried. The height of the strings at the TUSQ nut and TUSQ compensated saddle were pretty much right on. I'm always ready to jump right in and do whatever tweaking is needed on any instrument that I have, but I didn't feel the need to do so on this guitar (except for the truss rod). The only week link on this guitar is the tuners. They work OK , but I still may upgrade them for something of a better quality. The deal that I got from musiansbuy.com was the best one around. Even when there was glitch in the order, they took care of it right away and left me a happy, satisfied customer.
