Advantages of GR-20 and GR-20s VS. GR33: Faster Tracking
Easier To Use
Better Sound Quality ( newer waveforms ) The Roland GR-20 S offers a new digital pitch detection technology - and a whole new low price! You select sounds by category (Strings, Organ, Synth, etc.) and then select your favorite variation. The GR20 sounds great and tracks faster and more accurately than any of its predecessors. Editing is not as deep as the GR33 (which offers more individualized control over each string) but you do get some easy to use parameters with Attack, Release, Chorus, and Delay/Reverb knobs. A new streamlined profile invites you to place the GR20 next to your GT6 and use Patch Link to line up your sounds. With the GR20, it’s easy to tap into the power of guitar synthesis. The GRT20 is compatible with all GK-series Divided Pickups, including the fantastic new GK3 (not included).
Ever wanted to thicken up your guitar sound with a warm synth pad? Or how about a screaming lead sound that puts you in front? The GR-20 Guitar Synthesizer makes playing high-quality synthesizer and instrument sounds from your guitar as simple as 1-2-3. First, attach the GK-3 Divided Pickup (not included) to your steel-stringed electric (no drilling necessary). Second, select the type of sound you want using the Bank knob. Third, choose a sound variation using the Number/Value dial and start playing.

I own it! Purchased on 11-18-05. Very nice piece of eq. The sampled sounds are excellent and the tracking of the gk-3 is right on! Very straight forward and user friendly. One of my favorite sounds is the sax, and their is several-(alto-tenor-saprano), I own several other pieces,(gr-30,gr-33,sh-32,sc-155,I connect them to the gr-20 via midi and daisy chain them and run them from the gr-20,(tracking is supurb).Lots of really kool sounds in there! All control and effects are easily accessible on the front panel-ADSR, chorus, reverb, delay, and the addition of a programmable foot pedal, built in, completes the package. Unit also has a direct guitar out to go to any additional effects or pedals, or recorder, etc., very usefull addition! I'm keeping my eyes open for another one, or two of these units so that i can run them together and get multiple sound outputs for a seriosly fat, fat sounding backup section. Seriously-this is a truely unique and fantastic sounding piece of equipment and a delight to work and play with,(how else could you play 6 sax's at one time, one sax sound per string to form a chord), and not even have to blow! HAHAHAHA! A C chord of sax's-imagine that! or cello's, or harmonica's, or--well you get the drift! I WILL buy this again! Thanks for letting me bend your ear---Mark Stonoff, Logan, WV
