Unplugged the tone is a bit shallow due to the thin body. When plugged into an acoustic amp, the tone is certainly comparable to a higher-end guitar. The integrated tuner is a welcome accessory and funtions very well. Maintains tune, requiring minimal adjustments between playing sessions.I would say the APX500 is a decent value for a lower end guitar.(I found the best deal right here at Musicians Buy!!)
