|I've been playing this hor for 4 years now. I love it a lot, and I'm sad to see it go (trading for an Alex 103.) I enjoy the tone quality- you have to try to sound bad, really. As per most Holtons, the mid-low register is very quiet (anything from middle C to Low F.) It's hard to stay in tune. I have a good ear, and I still have to fight with it. Also, it tends to eat my air, I believe this is due to the large bell. It's heavy as well (developed tendonitis..)All of those things aside, it is a lovely horn, and often admired. It is dent resistant, scratch resistant, and wear resistant. I'm really going to miss it. The sound is so dark and pure- delightful, simply delightful.|
