Traynor YGM3 Hand Wired Re-Issue Combo Price: $1,149.00

Hand Wired Vintage Re-Issue
Built for the player that refuses to compromise their sound, the Traynor Re-issue YGM-3 recaptures the tone, warmth, feel and responsiveness of one of the classic guitar amplifiers of all time. Built using truly hand-wired point-to-point circuitry throughout, the Traynor YGM-3 uses only high-grade fiberglass insulated wire for all connections - no printed circuit boards or surface mount components are used.

Vintage Parts & Original Amp Specifications
Parts for the Traynor YGM-3 Re-issue were sourced from the original suppliers and built to the original design specifications wherever possible. The paper bobbin transformers were recreated for the YGM-3 by Hammond Canada, a source for Traynor parts since the 60s. Premium polypropylene capacitors, Switchcraft jacks and Accutronics reverb tanks are used today, just as they were in the 60s and 70s. The original supplier even painstakingly recreated the unique grille cloth used on the original YGM-3 for the re-issue.

Vintage Tube Tremolo
A throw back to the day in age where almost every guitar amp had some iteration of a tremolo effect, the distinctive footswitchable YGM-3 amplitude bias tremolo can go from a swamp boogie to psychedelic with the turn of a knob, then dialed down for a truly unique and subtle jazz tone.

The Legendary Jensen Alnico Magnet Speaker
The Jensen P12Q Alnico magnet speaker produces the ultimate vintage guitar tone. A truly premium speaker made using a unique combination of Aluminum, Nickel & Cobalt, the three elements (AlNiCo) that gives the speaker its name. Designed to sound their best in a premium tone-box tube amplifier like the YGM-3, the 12-inch Jensen P12Q Alnico magnet speaker delivers warmth, character and a responsiveness ideal for that ultimate blues, jazz or classic rock sound.

Custom Special Guitar Amps Series Overview
Made famous in the 60's and 70's, Traynor Tube Amps were a hit among both professional and hobby guitarists, and were known for their affordability and great tone. And, they were tough as nails!! Legends abound about our co-founder, Pete Traynors, rigorous Quality Control measures, that at times, involved dropping things from the factory roof if it didn't survive the fall and still work after, it wasn't up to spec and had to be reworked some more. The legends are true, and although we dont make a habit of throwing guitar amps off of the roof anymore, we still build them to that high level of standards.

The runaway hit that is the Traynor Custom Valve series sent our engineers back to the drawing board to answer the demands of our devoted followers users who demand the high quality tone, construction and affordable price synonymous with the Traynor name. We stepped up to the challenge and answered the call with the Traynor Custom Special series.

With the Custom Special series we made things bigger and louder. For one it features the first 4x12" cabinet that we have made since 1973, not to mention being the first three channel, 100-watt all tube guitar amp that we have ever produced. Not for the meek of heart, the Custom Special series can run the gamut from crystal clear rhythms to heavy crunching leads, Classic Rock to Modern Hi-Gain Metal and everything in between.

But does it go to 11?

Designed by musicians for musicians, Traynor Custom Special amplifiers are built for maximum versatility but are still simple to operate. It's always easy to get a great tone from a Traynor amp, and with the Custom Special series, we made it even easier by moving the controls to the front and adding an array of tone sculpting options like "Scoop", "Bright" and "Modern" voicing switches, "Resonance" and "Presence" controls, and yes, with the addition of a Solo Boost knob, these amps truly do go to 11. On the YCS100 alone there are no less than 9 different voicing switches, separate Reverb and effects loop level controls on all 3 channels, global Resonance and Presence controls and a user definable Solo Boost control that brings the amp to 11 on all 3 channels no less!!

Our DynaSound direct headphone and line level DI output makes the amp sound much more like a miked cabinet for recording. DynaSound speaker simulation is on both the XLR direct line output and the stereo headphone output for a more authentic headphone tone. Placing the amp in Standby mode will silence the output to the speaker cabinets, while keeping the headphone jack active for silent practice or silent direct recording.

The Custom Special series is up to the tough standards set out by Pete in 1963, marrying those high quality standards, familiar vintage style logo, and "chicken beak" knobs with more modern features like tough, all-metal grilles, bar handles, corners, removable casters, black Nubtex covering, all plywood construction, and of course comes with Traynor's famous two-year (even if you break it!)* transferable warranty.

Traynor YCS50 Guitar Amp 50W Price: $949.00

The Custom Special 50 is the ideal all tube combo for any player looking for maximum versatility in a compact package.

Capable of operating in either a 50-watt Class-AB mode or a more manageable 15-watt pure Class-A mode the Custom Special 50 can easily deliver enough volume for the live stage in the 50-watt setting, or allow the player to find super saturated lead & blues tones in the 15-watt mode for club and studio gigs.

Loaded with a proven single 12-inch Celestion Vintage30 speaker in a solid plywood cabinet, the Custom Special 50 is a full two-channel amplifier with completely independent gain, and fully separate EQs for clean and lead channels.

Maximum versatility in the clean channel is ensured by the innovative Brit / USA channel voicing switch unique to the Traynor Custom Special Series. This USA / Brit switch actually relocates the tone stack relative to the gain stages in the clean channel, allowing the Custom Special series EQ section to respond with either a crisp American style tube amp, for clarity and definition, or with a grittier, more spongy British flavor associated with the great UK amps of the 60s and 70s.

An Expander circuit that first appeared on Traynors popular Custom Valve 80 has been included on the Custom Special 50s rhythm channel allowing the amp to deliver an almost acoustic-like tone when required.

The Custom Special 50s lead channel offers more flexibility and a wider tone pallet than competitive tube amps in its class. Modern and Scoop switches offer the player a choice of vintage tube drive or a more aggressive scooped guitar tone. A solo boost level on the lead channel offers easy access to an additional gain stage, allowing the amp to deliver a clean, crunch and lead tone from the simple two-button footswitch (included).

Accutronics spring reverb, separate parallel effects loop with send and return for external side chain effects like chorus and delays, as well as an in-line loop through for EQs, Compressors or other effects, a master volume, Presence and Resonance controls are all included on the Custom Special 50.

As an additional feature the Presence and Resonance can be removed from the circuit with a simple touch of a switch on the front panel, shorting the signal path and delivering a truly vintage tube sound for the tone purist.

Traynor YCV80 Guitar Amp All TUBE ; Traynor YCV80, YCV80, Price: $899.00

With the Custom Valve 40 already getting rave reviews in the all-tube combo amp market, Traynor has responded to the demand by expanding the Custom Valve guitar amp line with the addition of the 2x12 Celestion loaded combo Custom Valve 80 (YCV80).

  • All tube construction with 4 x 5881, 3 x 12AX7A tubes
  • Dual 12" Celestion 70/80 speakers
  • Separate tone controls for clean and drive channels
  • 'Scoop' switch on lead channel for heavy 'boutique amp' lead sound
  • 'Expander' switch on rhythm channel for unique variations of clean tone

  • DynaSound compensated headphone output
  • Parallel effects loop with trim controls on input and output
  • Internal Speaker defeat switch for silent practice or direct recording
  • DC powered filament supply on preamp tubes for reduced hum

Designed and manufactured by Yorkville Sound, the new amplifiers offer more power and new, exciting features while maintaining the reliability and value Traynor users expect.

Two new tone-shaping controls give players unprecedented tonal variety for nearly any vintage tube tone. A 'Scoop' switch on the lead channel adds body for much heavier leads while the 'Expander' switch equalizes certain frequencies on the clean channel to create crystal clear new rhythm sounds often simulating an acoustic-like tone from an electric guitar.

Traynor's new DynaSound direct output makes the amp sound much more like a mic'd cabinet for recording. DynaSound speaker simulation is on both the XLR direct line output and the stereo headphone for a more authentic headphone tone. A speaker defeat switch is provided for silent practice or silent direct recording.

A parallel effects loop with separate input and output trim pots for better overall effects control and a series effects loop (or loop through) between the tube pre-amp and tube power stage give the performer more flexibility over the signal path than found on other amplifiers.

The Custom Valve 80 is vintage Traynor with black vinyl covering and chrome-plated corners, all plywood construction, and a classic front-mounted Traynor logo. The rear mounted control panel is easy to access, yet recessed for protection.

Traynor Custom Valve guitar amplifiers are distributed exclusively in the USA and Canada by Yorkville Sound and are covered under Yorkville's standard two year (even if you break it!) transferable warranty.* The same warranty that Traynor was famous for in the sixties.

The mode switch actually relocates the tone stack relative to the gain, giving the YGL1 either a crisp American style tube amp tone for clarity and definition (USA) or with a grittier, more spongy British flavor associated with the great UK amps of the 60s and 70s ( Brit mode). The third option is a "Pure" mode which bypasses the tone stack entirely, delivering a mid and overall gain boost allowing for the most direct signal path possible between your fingers and the speaker.

The Traynor YGL1 is made in Canada using a solid plywood cabinet construction and a single 12-inch Celestion Greenback speaker.

TRAYNOR DH40H IRONHORSE All Tube 40W HEAD Price: $549.00

The Traynor IronHorse head is the perfect amp for players who need to take the controlled sound of a low power lunchbox amp out of the studio and on to a live stage. Loud enough for almost any venue, the EL34 driven 40-watt all-tube design makes the IronHorse a true tone monster that delivers maximum versatility at club and concert volume.

The unique design of the IronHorse uses a cascode input stage using a low gain 12AU7 triode tube and making it run like a high gain pentode tube. This increases input sensitivity while offering lower noise and higher frequency response than any design using a standard high gain pentode tube. This boutique design trick creates the soon to be legendary IronHorse tone.

The IronHorse allows the player to radically change the tone of the amp by choosing between fixed or cathode bias modes on the output tubes. Fixed bias mode delivers higher headroom and tighter sound, while the cathode bias mode creates more compressed saturation and a completely different distortion characteristic.

Simple controls make it easy to find the ideal guitar tone. Basic controls include Gain, Bass, Treble and Master pots and a three stage mode switch mounted on the front panel. The Mode switch selects clean pure or solo tones. The pure setting bypasses the tone stack altogether, making the signal path from your fingers to the speaker as short as possible. Solo Mode is a higher gain footswitchable variation of the Pure Tone, again bypassing the tone stack and adding unmatched edge and clarity to your lead sound.

Traynor Guitar Amps Series Overview

As the desire for real tube tone continues to grow among guitarists, Yorkville responds to the demand by re-introducing Canadian-made Traynor Tube Amplifiers!

Made famous in the 60's and 70's, Traynor Tube Amps were a hit among both professional and hobby guitarists, and were known for their affordability and great tone. And, they were tough as nails!!

The Traynor Custom Valve 40 has been getting rave reviews from professional players all over the world. So overwhelming was the response that they said they wanted MORE! Yorkville engineers went back to build a big amp to feed the need.

This couldnt be just a bigger amp. It had to be bigger and better.

We added more tonal control, from crystal clear rhythm to heavy crunching leads. The problem was that we couldnt decide whether to make a 2 x 12 or a 4 x 10 version. So we made BOTH!
