YORKVILLE LS720P Detailsélite Series The LS720P has sophisticated processing circuitry that protects the driver while maximizing the use of the available power. This processing has been carefully optimized to complement the characteristics of the driver and enclosure system. The fast limiter protects against clipping and over excursion. It is located with both high and low pass filters on either side of the limiter to guarantee that only the correct frequency content reaches the driver. The slow (RMS) limiter is equalized to adjust for the impedance variations of the loudspeaker system over frequency. This ensures the maximum output of continuous bass prevalent in today's music while ensuring protection of the driver against overheating. The carefully tailored attack and release times ensure that the maximum level is available from the system. The input section in the LS720P allows for a variety of system configurations. There are two input sections allowing two signals to be blended into the LS720P. This allows stereo left and right signals to be summed into one LS720P while preserving channel seperation of the stereo signals. Each input section has XLR male and female jacks to allow loop thru of line level signals. In addition one input section also has two 1/4-inch jacks that may be used for loop thru of line or speaker level signals. Within each section all jacks are connected in parallel. Simple controls on the LS720P include an input gain control (Volume), variable high frequency cut-off and low-frequency tunable bass boost. The variable high frequency cutoff is adjustable from 90 to 150 Hz to trim the subwoofers low-pass filter to suit whatever full range cabinets are being used with this sub. A low-frequency tunable bass boost adjustable from 45 to 90 Hz has been included to allow subtle customizing of the bass character. Proven Class D amplifier technology allows the LS720P to operate without a fan while preserving ample thermal margin. The low heat dissipation of this technology eliminates the need for large heavy heat sinks. The light weight neodymium driver further reduces the overall weight. The LS720P uses a solid 5/8th-inch 11-ply Russian birch plywood cabinet construction with an all-metal heavy gauge perforated grille to protect the speaker and electronic components. Integrated all metal bar handles and metal speaker-stand pole-mount have been included. * 720-watt Self-Powered Subwoofer élite Series Overview New models for a new millennium Today’s élites, from the highly efficient two-way E10 to the 1500 watt E2152 have some of the most advanced component protection and crossover technology available today. They have been carefully designed to bring you the latest in Yorkville’s advanced loudspeaker engineering. A new concept in loudspeaker cabinet design first seen in Yorkville’s Pulse TM352 and TM12 is perfected in the élite line. Ideal for any small PA rental house, installer or sound company, these loudspeakers may replace a number of specific application cabinets in any inventory. Modified Trapezoidal Shape A modified trapezoidal shape and recessed input jack panel and handles mean these cabinets can function perfectly as a wedge monitor or front-of-house loudspeaker. Unlike some ‘multi-function’ loudspeakers currently in the marketplace, great care has been taken in the design process to ensure that élite cabinets will perform without compromising functionality as either a monitor or a front-of-house enclosure. Neither application was considered as an afterthought. Several of the élite loudspeakers are loaded with 80° x 50° rotatable ABS Waveguide horn assemblies (the E10 utilizes a 100° x 25° horn). The ability to rotate the horn assembly ensures that the cabinet can provide optimum high frequency dispersion when the loudspeaker is used in either a vertical, horizontal or arrayed application. Integrated stand mount adapters and flyware means these enclosures can be utilized in any permanent install or touring application. In addition, the modified cabinet shape means the élite series can be installed much closer to vertical surfaces and in some cases, under balconies in tight locations, and can be arrayed in a much tighter less obtrusive cluster. Of course, the élite series has retained the features and high quality sound that have made them so popular including Yorkville's famous two year (even if you break it!) transferable warranty.* Advanced technology * Compact and simple to operate Advanced Crossover Networks and Protection Schemes Advanced PTC™ Horn Protection makes its debut in the élite series. Where PTC™ shines is in heavy feedback environments where most horn diaphragm damage occurs. In rare situations even where a microphone might be dropped in a monitor, the sustained ‘squeal’ can destroy diaphragms in seconds. PTC™ will significantly reduce output level to the horn to protect the diaphragm. When the situation has been rectified, and the feedback eliminated the horn will return to full operating level within half a second. The E2152 features the ATP™ (Active-Transistor) protection system, which allows the horn driver to operate at levels significantly above those required for normal operation. The ATP™ brickwall element of the protection circuit uses power transistors configured to operate linearly yet have the fast attack required to protect against harmful transients. Along with ATP™, the crossover also incorporates air core coils and polypropylene capacitors to guarantee reliable and distortion free operation at extreme levels. The sonic benefit is higher output and greater transparency when operating at high levels. Under the hood of an E152 The L-Series uses our MSP™ (Multi-Sensing) protection system. This sophisticated and accurate protection network covers all the bases. Components are protected from excess subsonic energy, as well as short term (20ms) and long term (500ms) overpowering. This combination accurately protects against mechanical and thermal failure. In addition the high frequency driver is transparently and reliably protected by borrowing the light bulb from our CTL™ protection scheme and combining it with a relay (to further protect the light bulb). This self resetting protection scheme accurately senses clear abuse to any band, and shuts the band down until the potentially damaging situation is resolved. Bright indicator LED's (one for LF, one for MF/HF) are provided on the crossover dish to warn the user of impending / active shutdown. Along with the protection scheme, the L-Series crossover also incorporates polypropylene capacitors to guarantee reliable and distortion free operation at extreme levels. The sonic benefit is higher output and greater transparency when operating at high levels.
