Yamaha’s unrivalled tradition with both acoustic and electronic drums continues with the DTXPRESS IV V2 that marries highly responsive pads with newly-sampled kits from some of Yamaha’s classic acoustic models such as the Oak Custom and Recording Custom.
Even on the Standard model you get full-size cymbals, plus new learning tools in the 427 drum and percussion sound-housing brain. The new V2 cymbal pads have changed to PCY135 3-zone pads. The DTXPRESS IV Special goes on to offer an extra cymbal and separate hi-hat with stand With the new V2 the cymbal pads are (2) PCY135 cymbal pads, (1) PCY155 3-zone pad, hi hat is now the RHH-135. These are the same cymbals as the DXTIII Special kit has.
The DTXPRESSIV comes with 50 preset kits and 20 locations for storing custom creations. And there's not only drum samples on tap but also percussion and bags of special effects.

DTX-M Drum Module
The DTX-M Drum Module includes high-quality sounds sampled from top quality acoustic drum sets, with 427 drum and percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices with many of them being taken from the popular Motif synthesizers. The module features 50 factory and 20 user kits for you to design yourself. For practice purposes, the DTX-M has a Click feature with six programmed sounds and one user voice. The click can be subdivided and has memory for 30 preset tempo and pattern combinations. The Groove Check feature allows you to practice your time keeping skills with the click turning on and off on its own. The built-in sequencer has 63 preset and 20 user songs for you to build on your own.
Pads
The DTXPRESS IV Standard comes with a three zone TP65S Snare Pad, Four TP65 pads with three for your toms and one for the hi-hat, a KP65 Bass Drum Pad and two PCY130SC cymbal pads. These new pads are 13" in diameter and are three-zone to allow for crash, ride and bell playing. Also included is the HH65 hi hat controller for open and close functions.
Rack and Cables
The kit comes with the lightweight but sturdy RS70 rack and a cable snake that is individually labeled for easy set up and breakdown.
