Body Length: 20" / Body Width: 16" / Body Depth: 4 5/8"
The “Do It All” Guitar.
This popular shape falls between a Dreadnought and Grand Concert. It is great for both strumming and fingerpicking. Many singer-songwriters pick this shape since it works well both in the studio and on stage. The Grand Auditorium is currently the best-selling Taylor shape out of the bunch.
Grand Orchestra [GO]
Body Length: 20-5/8" / Body Width: 16-3/4" / Body Depth: 5"
The “Big, Bad, Deep Toned” Shape
The Grand Auditorium is a new shape for Taylor and really delivers if the low end is what you are after. Excellent sustain and full bodied. Sounds amazing when played with a soft touch as well as when you want really dig in. Fingerpickers like the balanced nature of this shape which works well with Travis picking and walking bass line styles.
Grand Symphony [GS]
Body Length: 20" / Body Width: 16 1/4" / Body Depth: 4 5/8"
The Strummers Choice.
This one is like a Grand Auditorium with more meat. It has a bigger body with nice clean highs. This shape works perfectly for 12 string models as well. This guitar is begging to be strummed and is a perfect song writing companion.
Grand Concert [GC]
Body Length: 19 1/2" / Body Width: 15" / Body Depth: 4 3/8"
Smaller Bodied Fingerstyle Shape.
The compact body shape means no low overtones and a sound that will fit nicely in a mix – both in the studio and on stage. With a wider neck and 24 7/8-inch scale length, fretting is easy and comfortable. Fingerpickers LOVE this one.
Dreadnought [DN]
Body Width: 16" / Body Depth: 4 5/8" / Body Length: 20"
The Classic.
When people think of an acoustic guitar – this is the classic shape they usually think of. Very well balanced and more than any other shape, the Dreadnought remains tied to the acoustic music scene due to it being the dominant shape for years for acoustic guitars. Every guitar player needs a dreadnought in their collection.
GS Mini
Body Width: 14 3/8" / Body Depth: 4 7/16" / Body Length: 17 5/8"
Big Sound on the Go.
Take the big sound of a Grand Symphony and scale it down to a convenient lightweight size and you have the GS Mini. It is the perfect guitar for playing around the house and bringing to your friends for a jam session. It is a modern parlor guitar, easy to play and easy to travel with.
Baby
Body Length: 15 3/4" / Body Width: 12 1/2" / Body Depth: 3 3/8"
The Small Dreadnought.
Take a standard dreadnought and shrink it down 25% and you have the Baby. This one is fun for kids with its smaller size - but don’t let the kids have all the fun! With a surprisingly good tone, this is a great guitar to experiment with high strung tuning or different capo settings. You wouldn’t be the first one to bring it on camping or boat trip as its small size makes it the easiest of all the Taylor shapes to hit the road with.
Big Baby
Body Length: 19 1/2" / Body Width: 15" / Body Depth: 4"
Just Smaller than Full Size.
This is the ultimate guitar for jamming at home and strumming for fun. You will want to sit and play for hours with its light weight and big tone. Still technically a smaller, portable guitar – this one holds its own as a great sounding Taylor with no compromises. The smaller size also makes it a great songwriting guitar that you can take anywhere.
As you can see there is a Taylor shape for every taste and need. If you still aren’t sure which one is right for you then give us a call at 1-877-778-7845 and one of our guitar professionals will help you pick the perfect guitar!
