The Seagull S6 Acoustic Guitar is an outstanding guitar and a great value. The sweet tones the cedar top brings will certainly compliment your music. The neck on the S6 is hand-finished and it has cherry back and sides. We invite you to check out this gem of a guitar as it is one of our top selling acoustic guitars! More InfoProgressing the Art of Guitar Building With this in mind Godin Guitars would like to introduce some exciting new advancements in the evolving world of acoustic guitar… the new “Integrated Set Neck” system and a “Polished Lacquer finish”. These innovations are certainly positive steps forward in the realm of acoustic guitar construction. The Integrated Set Neck system, as opposed to conventional acoustic guitar necks, applies no pressure to the top of the guitar, which is especially important when concerned with the possibility of the fingerboard sinking into the top with changes in temperature or climate. These fluctuations in climate also can affect warping or twisting of the neck, which can then play havoc with the action. These occurrences are now significantly reduced with this independent neck system, giving the guitar more consistent/stable action and further resistance to twisting and warping. The Integrated Set Neck extends into the body under the fingerboard up to the 19th fret, assuring added stability and reinforcement to that crucial area past the 14th fret. This added stability is accentuated by the new neck system being both glued and bolted to a customized internal block and precise neck slot area in the body. The Integrated Set Neck also houses a Double Function truss rod, which provides accurate adjustments to the neck in both directions. The Integrated Set Neck system can be found on new models of Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Norman and Art & Lutherie acoustic guitars. Can I use a heavier string gauge other than the Phosphor Bronze Lights you ship the guitars with? Should I loosen the strings on my Seagull if I'm going to take it with me on vacation? Can I use Steel strings on my Nylon string guitar? What do you recommend I clean my Seagull with? What does "hand-made" really mean? What is the difference between Cedar and Spruce? What is "cold-checking"? What is a truss rod? When should the truss rod be adjusted? Where should I install a strap pin? The fret edges are sticking out of the side of the neck. Why? And what should I do?
Seagull – Acoustic Guitars for Modern Times Thanks for visiting the Seagull home page. You’ve dropped in at a particularly exciting time for Seagull guitars as we have recently introduced the new compound-curve top design throughout the Seagull line. If you resisted the urge to click on the compound curve link, we’re tempted to say that we have been working on this for over twenty years and that’s certainly true considering our relentless commitment to product improvement. However, this is something more than the culmination of twenty years of design updates. This is a new acoustic guitar design concept that we have been working specifically towards for the better part of three years now. If you are already a Seagull player you may be concerned that we’ve been busy fixing something that wasn’t broken. If that’s you, please take note that we haven’t abandoned the Seagull attributes that got us here in the first place. Many familiar Seagull attributes remain, such as, the Seagull tapered headstock, the use of wild cherry back and sides, the unique shape of the Seagull body is only slightly changed. You can also rest assured that Seagull guitars continue to feature luthier-grade solid tops and genuine lacquer finishes. Another tradition that we’re sticking with is that of maintaining our commitment to the outstanding value that Seagull guitars are known for. Putting professional-quality musical instruments into the hands of musicians—experienced as well as aspiring—at reasonable prices means there is a greater chance of more great music being made and this is arguably our ultimate reward—besides becoming fabulously rich and famous of course. For an excellent example of the new Seagull design in action we highly recommend a copy of Peppino D’Agostino’s latest release “Every Step of the Way” which features the first commercially available recording using one of the new “Peppino Signature model” guitars which employ the new compound-curve design. History Of course there is much more to a great guitar than a solid top with a special finish, so we produced this illustrated guide to help you gain some understanding of the basic elements of a great sounding acoustic guitar. Solid Tops Cedar Top or Spruce Top? Aging Bookmatched Genuine Lacquer Finish Semi-Gloss GT Hand-Polish High Gloss Reverse Headstock The Tapered Headstock - Tuning Made Easy The Seagull Neck Silverleaf Maple and Honduras Mahogany Double Action Truss System The Heel Neck Pitch Compensated Seagull Saddle Seagull Body Styles The folk sized body shares its dimensions with those of a classical guitar and projects more midrange. Review of SEAGULL 29396 RATING:
I bought this a model a year ago from musiciansbuy after deciding to start playing again after years off. The solid top, the fact that it is made in North America, and the price got me to buy without ever having played or heard it. I was very pleased right away with the quality and the sound and continue to be pleased as it sounds even better a year later as it ages. The only mild complaint I had with it is that the out of the box set-up was really high making it a little difficult to play. I have no problem taking it in to a luthier to be set up though, as the instrument is well worth it. I liked it so much I bought my son the Seagull mini jumbo which is another outstanding value!
-Mike Review of SEAGULL 29396 RATING:
I've had the guitar for three years. It stays in tune and has a very clear and crisp sound. I strummed every guitar in the store in this price range and also compared it to some more expensive models with similar features such as the Martin D-18. It is a real value.
- Review of SEAGULL 29396 RATING:
This is my first guitar and I am very pleased with the sound and playability. The action is good and the warm sound of the solid cedar top are the two features that sold me. The guys at Musiciansbuy were also great. This will not be the last guitar that I buy from them!
-DRLOVE Our Happy Customers "Awesome! Thank you very much. You guys are awesome. I purchased an electric kit from you a couple years ago and was very happy with both the purchase and your customer service.
