Roland revamps its popular TD-3SV drum kit by incorporating a PD-80R mesh snare drum pad. This makes the TD 3SV a full kit with three toms and a mesh-head snare! A High-Quality Drum Module with Rhythm Training Exercises
The Roland TD3 Percussion Sound Module boasts 114 new, high-quality drum and percussion sounds arranged into 32 kits, plus an easy-to-use interface so you can start playing right away. Finding the right drum kit is simple: just use the Phrase Preview function to hear a short demo for each kit. Each kit’s sounds can be enhanced using 15 types of built-in Ambience effects and compression. And with Roland’s enhanced Rhythm Coach onboard, drummers can improve their timing, speed and endurance using several rhythm-training exercises. The back of the module features nine trigger inputs, making it possible to add more pads like Roland’s mesh PD-80R for snare. A stereo Mix input lets you play along with external audio sources, while MIDI In and Out let you connect with sequencers and more.

Thanks to Roland’s latest pads and triggers, the V-Compact Series TD-3S delivers ultra-realistic feel and expressiveness at a great price. The new KD-8 Kick Trigger, for example, uses a vertical design to give drummers a more natural feel with minimal tremble and the ability to use double bass pedals. The new CY-8 Cymbal Pads support both edge and bow sounds with “swinging” motion and choke capabilities, while the FD-8 Hi-Hat Controller delivers smooth hi-hat sounds from open to closed.

Easy to set up and use right out of the box. The kit is AWESOME! The mesh snare has a great feel, very responsive, although somewhat small at 8". The only complaint, if any, is the use of a PD-8 pad for a HH. Not very responsive, and doesn't feel good. Will probably upgrade the HH pad. Overall, it's great for intermediate/advanced drummers like myself, and the cost can't be beat!!!
