Ovation’s new VXT Hybrid guitar is the perfect instrument for players seeking classic electric guitar power and warm, realistic acoustic guitar tones in one easy to operate instrument.

The VXT allows you to pan from sweet acoustic finger style to hard driving power chords with just a turn of a knob. Or, discover a near infinite range of exciting new sounds by combining electric and acoustic in various amounts.

Two Seymour Duncan ’59 humbucking pickups supply plenty of electric power to cover a wide range of styles – including blues, jazz, country, hard rock and heavy metal.

To provide acoustic realism, the VXT employs Ovation’s VIP virtual microphone imaging preamp. This brand new technology offers players access to a natural, studio-quality acoustic sound. The Fishman Power Bridge provides true acoustic attack without Piezo distortion.

The chambered Mahogany body creates a rich depth for both the electric and the acoustic modes, without a trace of feedback even at high stage volumes.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I'm a brand new American-made hybrid guitar that's perfect for the player who's seeking classic electric guitar power and warm, realistic acoustic guitar tones in one easy to operate instrument. My dad has an established history of building electric guitars, and mom pioneered the foundations of acoustic/electric guitar craftsmanship. Some people say I'm more like my father, others think I'm more like my mother. I think I'm the perfect blend of both of them. And hey, that makes me a pretty sweet guitar if I do say so myself!

Ovation is pleased to expand its hybrid VXT offering with new finishes, exotic tops and a lower priced model.

The VXT was introduced in May 2007 as one model available in a Sunburst and Black finish options. For January 2008, in addition to its Black and Sunburst predecessors, VXT models will now be available in Cherry Trans and Cinnamon Burst finishes. Retail: $2599

Deluxe VXT models featuring new exotic Flame Maple tops will also be added to the 2008 line up. Deluxe VXTs will be available in 59 Burst and Brown Sugar Flame finishes. Retail: $2699

Ovation will also be introducing a lower priced VXT in two new finish options. The VXT Standard is based on Ovation’s popular Elite T guitar and features a maple neck, one-piece poplar body, textured body finishes, Seymour Duncan P90 pickups, and, like the original VXT, VIP microphone imaging technology that controls the acoustic output. Available in Black and Titanium Silver finishes. Retail: $2199
