We think that you'll agree that Bass POD XT Pro is about the most amazing thing to happen to the bass guitar since, well, the bass amplifier itself.
The tone and technology of Bass POD XT Pro comes to you as 28 Amp, 22 Cab, and over 50 Effect Models (with flexible pre/post routing) based on a collection of gear recognized by guitarists and bassists the world over as true "tone classics." These models were tweaked through careful, scientific A/B comparisons to the gear that inspired them, with an ear open for the effects of different volume levels and settings of the originals' tone and gain controls.
But wait — there's more! Bass POD XT Pro has our newest-generation A.I.R. II cabinet/microphone modeling which allows you to choose from 4 different classic mic models and even adjust how much of the room sound you hear! There's even a dedicated studio-quality compressor, full-time semi-parametric EQ, and a Bi-amp (low/high) output mode.
With its XLR and 1/4-inch outs, 24-bit/96k digital ins and outs (AES/EBU & S/PDIF), and effects loop, you'll be able to connect to any type of analog, digital, or computer audio hardware. Now you're ready to track.
With 64 user/factory presets, many based on some of the most popular songs ever recorded, you'll have instant access to an unbelievable collection of classic bass rigs. As you may have guessed, we’re tone fanatics here at Line 6. Once we’ve set our sights on modeling a particular kind of amp, we will scour the globe in search of just the right specimen—that one, very particular amplifier that has the magic. We are also intensely mindful of the fact that, although amp model names may stay the same over the years, the circuit designs sometimes change radically.
As we all know, even two amps with the same circuit design, from the same era, can sound radically different, just on the basis of variance in component tolerances, among other things. Plus, there’s the fact that every amp has its own special way of settling in over the years. And, just like people, some of them only get better with age. That’s exactly why we went to so much trouble to find the very best examples we could of every amp that we wanted to model for Bass PODXT Pro.

II cab/speaker/mic emulation, MIDI, chromatic tuner, 64 channel memories, and USB digital I/O for Mac and PC recording applications.
Re-Amping
Using the ANALOG REAMPING INPUT/OUTPUT connections, you can send a dry unprocessed guitar signal to your recording device and send it right back into the Bass PODXT Pro. Why is this so cool? Well, now you can go back at any time and change the entire sound of the track you recorded. How many times have you recorded a track where you wanted to just pull back the drive on a stompbox, try a different amp, or add a little more compression? Now you can! If you're really into experimenting with sounds, try sending other tracks like vocals, keys, or drum tracks through the Line Level Input jack! If you're really sneaky, you can also do this digitally with the AES/EBU, S/PDIF, or USB connections.
Effects Loop
Even though Bass PODXT Pro has more stompbox and studio effects than you can shake a stick at, we've decided to give you some extra rope and thrown in a programmable effects loop. Now you can run your old rackmount effects processors in series or parallel.
Unbalanced Analog Out
These 1/4-inch outputs can be run in Studio, Live, or Bi-amp mode. In Studio mode, they're ready to plug into a recorder with unbalanced –10dBV inputs. In Live mode, they don't have speaker simulation, and are ready for connection to an onstage amp. When Bi-amp mode is enabled, the low frequency portion of your signal is sent out the D.I. jack, while the high frequency portion goes out the Model jack, so each jack can be connected to a separate power amp and speaker cabinet(s) to separately amplify your lows versus your highs.
Balanced Analog Out
These balanced XLR outputs can be run in Studio or Live mode. In Studio mode, they're ready to plug into a recorder with balanced +4dBu inputs. In Live mode, they send –10dBV signals to the P.A. or house system.
AES/EBU & S/PDIF Inputs and Outputs
These jacks can send and receive digital audio signals in any combination of 16, 20, or 24-bits with 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96KHz sampling rates. Bass PODXT Pro uses its internal clock to generate the sample rate you choose, or you can sync to the signal you send it from your digital system.
USB Port
Bass PODXT Pro's USB driver software allows direct digital recording to your Mac or PC, plus the ability to play back audio from your computer like a soundcard. Also supports MIDI over USB.
MIDI
Bass PODXT Pro lets you control everything via MIDI. You can select any Bass PODXT Pro Channel, automate any parameter, and backup your Bass PODXT Pro's memory to your computer.
Pedal
Our FBV and FBV Shortboard allow you to select different patches, tap in your effect speeds/times/tempos, and kick in the tuner. Plus, both foot controllers give you a Volume and Wah pedal. This same jack also sends power to the FBV and FBV Shortboard. There's also the smaller FBV4 and FBV2 controllers if you want to travel light.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because output level and tone vary greatly from bass to bass, you should be sure to adjust the
volume and tone controls on your bass to get the best experience with the Factory Presets. Bass PODxt Pro owners can also
try switching the INPUT LEVEL switch to the PAD setting, which is intended for use with pickups with hot output levels.
