Kyser's design allows for the entire sound hole to be covered so that the humidity is captured inside the guitar body without moving out beyond into the neck, the case or other areas not necessary to preserving the humidity content of the soundboard. As a thirty-year piano tuner-technician I have much experience with spruce piano soundboards and their relation to humidity.
