KORG C6500 Details

Introducing the NEW C-6500 CONCERT digital piano, with our most beautiful piano sound ever offered!

With two types of magnificent piano sounds, a rich array of functions found only in a digital piano, and an elegant cabinet, the C-6500 sets the new standard for digital pianos.

Two beautiful, new stereo piano sounds.
In addition to three grand piano programs, the C-6500 also gives you two electric pianos, harpsichord, organ, strings, and bass, for a total of nine different sounds. Effects such as reverb, chorus, and brilliance let you adjust the spaciousness and brightness. A 14,000 note built-in recorder lets you record two separate parts for a song. Soft-closing key cover designed for safety and elegance.
Sophisticated design with a brown walnut finish that will complement any room.

The Pursuit of Beautiful Sound
Utilizing Korg’s world-acclaimed technology, the new C-6500 boasts beautiful, professional piano sound and feel. The C-6500's tone generator is equipped with the same HI synthesis system as best-selling Korg synthesizers, like the award-winning TRITON and KARMA workstations. With a new memory-rich, dynamic stereo-sampled piano sound, the C-6500 sounds like a true grand piano and responds faithfully to your keyboard playing dynamics. The new “Dynamic Stereo Sampled” piano sound actually switches between two different piano samples, one played softly and the other hard so your expressive playing is perfectly represented.

Three Characteristically Different Grand Piano Programs
The C-6500 provides several carefully selected grand piano sounds preferred by pianists around the world.

Piano 1:

  • The highest-quality stereo grand piano, with amazing presence. From tranquil, quiet tones to rich and powerful loud notes, a wide range of expressive sounds will satisfy both player and listener.

Piano 2:

  • A light and delicate stereo grand piano, with a character that differs from Piano 1. This sophisticated piano is distinguished by a beautifully lustrous resonance.

Piano 3:

  • An all-around grand piano that can be used for any style. This piano is perfect for a number of versatile uses, such as layering with strings in an ensemble.

Real Weighted Hammer Action Keyboard with the Feel of a Grand Piano
The C-6500 features a real weighted hammer action keyboard that responds to every movement of your fingers. Just like a grand piano, the keyboard has a heavier action in the lower register and lighter action as you play upward, giving you the truest piano feel possible. A three-position key touch control lets you select light, medium, or heavy response, so you can choose how the sound will respond to your playing dynamics.

Powerful-sounding Speaker System
The cabinet’s bass reflex speaker system is designed to convey every bit of the depth and spaciousness of the C-6500's piano sounds. With 12 cm speakers in a boxed enclosure the C-6500 delivers rich lows, and 5 cm tweeters produce clear highs with superb presence.

Three Pedals for Maximum Expressive Power
Damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals are provided. To add to the expressive nuances of your playing the C-6500 supports half-pedaling, a technique where you only slightly depress the damper or soft pedals for a wide range of tonal possibilities.

The Wide Range of Sounds that only a Digital Piano can Provide
In addition to three grand piano sounds, the C-6500 also gives you two electric pianos, harpsichord, organ, strings, and bass, for a total of nine different sounds. You can choose to split these across the keyboard with different sounds in high and low ranges, or layer them for rich, new tones.

64-note Polyphony
With a maximum 64-note polyphony, you’ll have plenty of notes for full piano performance even while using the sustain pedal.

Built-in Effects for Beautiful Sound
The C-6500 contains chorus and reverb effects to complement its piano and other sounds. A brilliance control lets you adjust the brightness of the tone over three levels.

Two-part Sequencer for Convenient Practicing
The built-in 14,000-note recorder lets you independently record two parts (e.g., accompaniment and melody) – a great convenience for lessons or practicing.

Enjoyable Demonstration Songs
The C-6500 provides 24 piano demonstrations. Not only can you enjoy these as background music, but you can also mute one part and play theother part yourself. Also included are eight demonstration songs that show off its other sounds.

Beautiful Design
The sophisticated and classic design of the C-6500 features a brown walnut finish that looks good in any room. The key cover that protects the keyboard is designed to close slowly, like a fine acoustic piano, giving an extra measure of safety in homes with small children.

Exclusive Features Found only on a Digital Piano
Taking full advantage of modern technology, the C-6500 includes numerous useful and enjoyable functions that can only be found on a digital piano.

Audio IN/OUT
The audio output jacks allow the sounds of the C-6500 to be heard through external speakers. Or you can plug an outside audio source, like a CD player, into the C-6500 and listen to it through the C-6500’s internal speakers.

MIDI connectors (IN, OUT)
The C-6500 can be connected to a synthesizer or other MIDI-equipped device, letting you transfer performance data or enjoy computer-based educational and entertainment applications.

Key transpose
The key transpose feature lets you transpose the pitch of the instrument so you can play in any key with ease.

Metronome
A convenient metronome function is built-in for practicing.

Temperaments
In addition to the standard temperament, the C-6500 provides two historical temperaments, Kirnberger and Werckmeister.
