The advanced technology of SRX700 series speakers delivers the power and performance that you would expect from the highest quality, professional rig. At the same time, JBL innovation and design have reduced system weight so load in and out are a breeze. All this performance is housed in rugged birch enclosures for years of superb performance.

All SRX700 2 and 3-way models may be operated full-range or bi-amplified. The selection is made by means of a high-current, recessed switch mounted on the input plate. The switch is accessible while also being protected from accidental mis-setting.

The same switch arrangement is used on the subwoofer to select +/-1 or +/-2 operation.

SRX700 is constructed of top quality birch plywood and coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex™ finish. Extensive use of internal braces and bulkheads makes the enclosures extremely rigid. This reduces acoustic losses caused by panel resonance. The attractive CNC-machined, 16-gauge steel grille wraps around the sides of the enclosure so there are no protruding lips on the front of the system to create acoustical interference. The grilles are internally lined with acoustically transparent foam to provide additional driver protection and give a totally professional appearance.

High Power
Amplifier manufacturers are building amps that can produce more power at less cost than ever before. The SRX700 series lets you unleash that power with a new generation of very high power low-frequency drivers. That would be enough for most manufacturers, but JBL accomplished this while also greatly reducing the weight of the drivers.

Incredibly Lightweight
SRX700 uses JBL's parented Differential Drive® woofers with neodymium magnets. Neodymium's magnetic properties allow a few ounces to replace pounds of conventional magnet.

SRX712M - 12" two-way stage monitor

The SRX712M was designed with one goal - build the lightest, smallest, loudest, clearest stage monitor possible while delivireing a strikingly professional appearance. The SRX712M uses a 12" Differential Drive® woofer and a 3" (voice coil diameter) compression driver that handles 800 watts (continuous) power in a 12" high profile. A 90° x 50° horn provides smooth, even coverage regardless of the position of the performer.

For utility speaker applications, the SRX712M can be tripod mounted or over a subwoofer with JBL's dual angle pole mount providing 90° vertical or 10° down tilt for optimum audience coverage.

The SRX712M is a world-class, professional stage monitor. The SRX712M uses a JBL 2262H 305 mm (12 in) patented* Differential Drive® woofer and a 2431H 75 mm (3 in) voice-coil, neodymium compression driver for 800 watts (continuous) power capacity from a monitor with a profile that is only 12 inches above the stage. A 50° x 90° aluminum horn provides smooth, even coverage whether the performer is standing right on the speaker or moving upstage. Bi-amp or full-range passive operation may be selected by a recessed, high-current switch mounted in the handle cup. NL4 connectors are provided on both ends of the speaker to keep cable runs tidy on stage.

The SRX712M can also do double duty as a utility speaker. For use on a tripod or over a subwoofer, JBL's dual angle pole mount is included. This feature allows the speaker to be mounted in a vertical position or with a 10° down tilt for optimum audience coverage. If suspension or truss mounting is a requirement, add the
optional SRX712M-YK yoke bracket. This accessory provides attachment points for a wide range of suspension and truss mounting hardware.

The SRX 712 is the best monitor on the market today. Ruggedly constructed, lightweight and powerful, it's a breeze to work with and provides a transparent, detailed mix on stage. It mates perfectly with a high powered amplifier, and works equally well in passive or bi amp modes. The cabinet has a small footprint and a low profile making for a very neat stage, quick setup and easy transportation. It rolls off quickly at 60 Hz, I would love JBL to offer an extended range 15 in a monitor version as well. The new, higher price makes these hard to afford, I suspect JBL needed to create a middle price point for the 400 watt version they've rolled out. Otherwise: Highly recommended.
