1. D-2424 24bit/96kHz 24-track hard disk
recorder
2. HAMMERFALL 24 digital I/O sound card
3. C-CONSOLE – full function monitor/remote software
The D-2424 System bridges the gap
between ‘stand-alone’ hard disk recording and ‘desktop’ recording. Consisting
of a Fostex stand alone 24 track recorder, an RME Digi9652 Hammerfall sound
card, and a C-Console software interface for controlling/monitoring all D2424
functions directly from your PC, the D-2424 system meets the increasing demand
for a complete 24 track recording solution. On the front end, you get the most
powerful stand alone 24 track recorder that includes 8 in / 24 out balanced
analog I/O, 48 channels of ADAT optical I/O, RS422, Word Clock, 5.1GB removable
hard drive, 32 virtual tracks, and a fully-featured hardware editing system. On
the back end, the included Digi9652 Hammerfall sound card turns your PC into
the most powerful digital mixer with the lowest latency in the industry.
Transfer 24 channels of audio in and out of your PC, fly individual tracks into
your favorite PC editing software, burn CD’s, or simply process some tracks. No
matter what your needs, the Fostex D-2424 Recording System is the most complete
and reliable recording system on the market. With everything you need included
– The Fostex D-2424 24bit/96kHz digital 24-track hard disk recording system is
the recording industry’s biggest "No-Brainer" since the invention of the
microphone.
Bundled with Hammerfall 9652 Audio Card for your
computer.
Why Bundle?
Research has shown that current and past users of D-SERIES Fostex recorders are
using these machines in computer-based systems; often trying to sync to
external software editing systems and execute successful audio transfers
to/from these systems. With the D2424 Recording System, a complete system is
achieved by offering a computer connectivity solution and a means to control
the recorder from
the computer.
Why the RME Hammerfall Sound Card?
By having the audio reside on the D2424 instead of the computer’s hard drive,
CPU performance is substantially conserved. This allows an affordable software
package
(i.e. Cubase or Cakewalk) to be used as a computer-based mixer for the D2424
stand-alone recorder.
In order to accomplish 24 channels of 24-bit audio, an extremely high
performance sound card was necessary to facilitate real-time mixing and DSP
effects simultaneously. The Hammerfall was chosen to meet this requirement.
It’s unique design, by having 80% of the software driver burned directly in the
card’s EPROM, achieves an industry latency breakthrough of 1.5 milliseconds.
The Hammerfall’s overwhelming compatibility with MAC and PC operating systems
such as Windows 95/98/2000/NT, Linux, and Unix also makes it easy for a systems
integrator to choose the best computer system for their needs.
