Leo’s first! The Esquire is the guitar that started it
all. The Fender Esquire, originally released in 1950, was Leo
Fender’s first electric guitar design. The single pickup
precursor to the Telecaster guitar, the '50s Esquire, features an
ash body, maple neck, vintage Telecaster bridge with steel
saddles, and volume and tone controls with a 3-way “quick
tone change” switch.
