The GNX4 is the ultimate live performance tool with the power to deliver on any stage. So whether you’re playing in front of 20 people or 20,000 screaming fans, the GNX4 belongs in your rig.

Whether inspiration strikes while practicing, jamming with friends or while you’re tearing it up on stage, a Compact Flash card and the GNX4’s Record button will easily capture your creative impulses. When you get back to your computer, you can catalog all your ideas using the built-in card reader.
The GNX4 is the heart of your recording setup. Gone are the days of buying various mic preamps, mixers, recording software, and I/O soundcards to set up your computer recording studio. The GNX4 works hand in hand with the enclosed software suite so you can focus on the music, not the gear. So whether you’re recording your lead vocal with your best condenser mic, adding some keyboards to compliment the rhythm guitar, or laying down several different guitar solos, the GNX4 is the ultimate in recording simplicity.
All I can say is wow. I started playing guitar back in the early 80's and I basically stopped playing from 1988-2003. So needless to say, I am out of practice and was not current on what is now available. Well, this has got to be every guitarist's dream come true. The quality is exceptional. The ability to customize the effects to your personal preference is incredible. But then to add a drum machine and an 8 track recorder on top of all this is truely awesome. Only drawback is it takes some time to learn how to use the devise comfortably and it doesn't come with a compact flash card. Even at just over $500 it is a bargain for everything that you get. I definately recommend getting this system if you can afford it. It is perfect for practicing, recording, and performing. Oh yea, there is one other problem associated with the system, girlfriends and wives hate it. The same old complaints of not spending enough time with them will be multiplied ten fold!

Initial experience - I haven't tried everything but want to mention the effects that are in the pedal are all amazing. I had an RP-7 and only liked 2 or 3 effects of the 40 preset. I haven't found one yet that I didn't like or thought I could use. Great improvements and kudo's for Digitech hiring effect gurus.
Ive had this GNX4 unit for about three months now. All I can say is that my playing has progressed more in these three months than the last three years combined. Practice is fun and my drummer now knows he's expendible..hehe.. At first the unit is a little overwhelming. I had the luxury of studying the manual for about 24 hours over 2 days and it pretty much came together regarding use. I have still yet to explore the flash card recording but look forward to the possibilities. The pre-sets are great but the amp modeling is the cats a$$. Switching from Pages set-up to Eddie V's, then to Metallica's, at the stomp of a pedal, keeps the show going and even myself impressed. This is the best musical investment any learning guitar player can make. Rock on. jim

I bought a GNX 1 a few months ago anything just to get a good pedal. I then cought boss Boss BR 864 recorder It's great but now I would love on of these for to get effects and recording together. I highly recomend recording to every one else. It's great. Like having an instructor with you all of the time. A GNX 4 would be better because it wounds like it can do everything.

I have played a Peavey TubeFex for the last eight years and it honestly took six years or so to get it the way I wanted it. After hearing my buddy play the GNX-3 I knew I was getting one. The GNX-4 came out so I went out and bought one. I hooked it up and was blown away, "OUT OF THE BOX" this thing has better factory presets than I could come up with in six years. Digitech hit a "Grand Slam" with the GNX. I almost forgot to mention the killer eight track, Mic preamp, 1/4", XLR, midi and USB ports. Amazing midi drums...So many options that work killer. The only thing I would like even more is if it came in a rack mount. Take it from a player, This thing is the ticket! "Peace out!"

This unit is great. I learned about it at the Digitech forum and have had it about 3 mos. It is the best all around recorder and live use mutieffects pedal I have used. I also found out about the Supermodels additional modeling packs and those are a great addition. If 15 amps isn't enough you can make it even more, hundreds more. The presets are good out of the box but you need the speaker compensation on to get the best sounds. If not, it sounds brittle. The manual suggests it's usage but the Users at the forums are what sold me even more. Lots of good guys there to help. the software editor is pretty easy, more than others. All around A+++ for this unit! Add the model packs and your gonna love it more! Built well, reliable, and I love it!

This is THE multi effects pedal to get if you're in the market for one. It does it all - effects, drum machine, recorder/looper, software, etc...if you have the patience to learn to use all of its features - it has a very steep learning curve - but NOT impossible. The manual is very detailed but not too techie. The sounds (pre-sets, drums) are all excellent and tweakable. Even my acoustic sounds sweet with this thing - and of course my electric kicks butt with it! The recorder/looping feature is great! (but you NEED a compact flash card, not included) You can record and play along with yourself and the drum tracks on the fly with the optional footswitch, and dub/overdub up to 8 tracks (which you can also undo) - cool - or you can download MP3 music to jam along with too! The DigiTech website has a lot of info, downloads, manuals, etc. There's even a "GNX4 user community forum" where you can swap patches, listen to other user's songs, swap war stories about the GNX4 and get useful hints and tips. I've learned much just perusing through the forums and discussions. You won't be bored with this unit! I've only had it about 2 weeks and barely scratched the surface of its full potential. The initial price is sticker shock - but for all of it's features, functions, sound quality, software and the pure fun factor - the price is actually a bargain compared to what you'd pay if you purchased each feature/function/software separately - Go GET IT!

Love it!! This thing is cool. Some say Toy, No way. Control Assigns really add the LIVE feel bigtime! The recorder and Com Flash card MP3 playback is awesome for jams. Thanks for the tid-bit on the SuperModels disc. Wow, did that GNX come alive!! No doubt, amazingly real! The Editor is easy to use and the video tutorials at the supermodel site make things even easier. keep the Speaker Compensation ON. All is well in my GNX land. Recordings are great. Live, this unit wails! peace!!

I think that the gnx4 is a work of art. Thousands of pounds put in to one fx unit. value for money i think.!! Even Joe Satriani done a review on it and said that he uses it to create new sounds and records them at the time and for warming up before live gigs and he is the guitar god. 10 10 definately
This unit has been a gas to learn how to use . It's ability to record electric guitar is astounding and the microphone input can record an acoustic guitar superbly too . FX can also be used to enhance a vocal recording too ! 8 track to record on and you can merge one or more tracks to another track(s) to free up a track(s) on this unit when used as a stand alone digital recorder . When used with a p.c. wow you can record 4 tracks at once . So far it's reliable as can be and built tuff too . Can't say enough positive stuff about this unity it's tops in my book . I have mine hooked to a 60 watt Carvin tube amp and then also into my P.A. as well it screams loud and clear . I played it next to a Marshall single stack with 100 watts and 4X12 , the sound the GNX4 put out to the amp was superb , a lot of people came up to me after the session asking abut my sound and how I got it . They were not aware of how good this Digitech GNX4 sounds and it's versatility . The guy playing the Marshall owns a GNX$ and wasn't able to use it because he broke the wire off on his GNX4's power supply and was bummed out too because of how good my 1X12 Carvin 60 watt tube sounded next to his Marshall rig . He said I got to get me a power supply for my GNX4 ! That's the only negative comment made by owners of these units is the power supply wire's breaking , so far mine works fine and shows no signs of waring out or breaking . Besides electric guitar , this also works for bullet harmonica microphones for the Harmonica Maniac Harpman . The fav amp and cabinet for Blues Harp men is the Fender Bassman with the 4X10 in it and ... ...The GNX4 has that amp cabinet to tweak for a harmonica man to play through as well as the ability to take guitars and harps to the next LEVEL with custom sounding patches when you use the WARP feature to morph two patches into one unique signature sound. Sincerely : Hurricane Ramon who done found his Guitar TONE !
