Review of DIGIDESIGN DIGI002RACK
|Ease Of Use
I've had my 002 for over a year and i have done many projects with it. Many people may not agree with me but this is the straught dope. If you are doing electronic music or techno, Rap and Hiphop or any music that is using software synths and samples then the digi002 can't be beat. It's great wonderful fantastic and all of that. BUT If you are tracking live instruments or very dynamic voices with alot of character then it's just ok. The AD converters on the digi002 and all of these units mid priced are their weakness. Can you make a good demo? yes. Can you make a good indie self relesed album? MAYBE if you've been recording for thirty years like me. Can you record alisha keys for clive davis.? If you get the both of them hooked on crack yes. I don't care if you put a neve mixer in front of it or what, the converters will not accurately translate whats coming out of that neve. I a-b'd my bass recorded on a digi002 and on my tascam 122mk2 cassette and the cassette was way better. Digital audio is great if you have great converters. If you have the cash get the digi002 and the apogee minime or even the lucid ad2496 or anything to improve over the digi002 converters. that's only if your going to be tracking live stuff. Sorry to bust any bubbles.
