AUDIX CX212 Details top
The ADX212/218 are professional miniature condenser
microphones designed for speech and vocal applications in
live sound and broadcast. Most commonly used for pulpits,
podiums, board room meetings, and teleconferencing, the
ADX212/218 mics feature dual flexible goosenecks at both
the base and top of the system, allowing for maximum
positioning capabilities.
With a smooth uniform response over a frequency range of
40 Hz – 18 kHz, the ADX212/218 microphones provide a
warm, rich sound not typical of microphones this size. The
stock microphone employs a cardioid capsule, however,
these microphones are also available with a hypercardioid
capsule (ADX212-HC, ADX218-HC).
The ADX212/218 may be permanently installed into a
podium or table top by using the flange mount adapter
provided or the optional SMT1218R rubber insulated
shockmount system. The ADX212/218 may also be used
with the optional ATS-10 heavy duty table stand featuring
a lighted on-off switch.
Metal housings for the ADX212/218 are fabricated from
high quality aluminum and brass and finished with a non-
reflective durable e-coat. The capsule, FET assembly, and
preamp circuitry are all field-replaceable components.
The ADX212/218 requires phantom power voltage (9-52
volts), however, if phantom voltage is not available, the
optional Audix APS-2 phantom power supply is suggested.
The ADX212/218 microphones can also be used with any
standard mic stand by using the optional D-Clip to hold the
base of the microphone.
The CX-212 is an exceptional tool for project studios, professional audio production, and live stage performances. Delivering a smooth, uniform frequency response from 30 Hz - 20 kHz, the CX-212 offers a choice of three polar patterns: cardioid, omni-directional, and figure 8. Additionally, the CX-212 is equipped with a bass roll-off filter to help eliminate rumble and hum in the lower frequencies. The CX-212, which will handle sound pressure levels up to 132 dB, is a perfect candidate for a wide variety of acoustic instruments, vocals, string sections, ensembles, and ambient room miking. The CX-212, which is designed with discreet low noise preamp circuitry, operates on phantom power of 48-52 volts. Optimum results will be achieved by using the CX-212 with a high quality mic preamplifier and premium quality microphone cable.
