Model 342 has the same playing characteristics as model 340 but features a straight body and an extended range to low Eb. Its sturdily built key mechanism is easy to maintain in perfect regulation, making it ideal for school use. Model 342 may be played from a standing position by the average 12-year-old or when seated on a string bass stool or drummer’s throne.

All Leblanc USA and Vito Bb soprano clarinets feature the exclusive Positive Radial Alignment Guide, or PRAG (U.S. patent 5,000,072) to ensure the proper alignment of the instrument's upper and lower joints, crucial to clarinet performance.
